About the Bulldog
The Bulldog, also known as the English Bulldog, was originally created in Great Britain to hold bulls down for butchers.
Today, this dog is used as a companion dog.
The Bulldog and Intelligence
Bulldogs are gentle and sweet dogs who love everyone. They are mellow and even tempered and make for great family pets. Though it is small, this dog makes for a great protector of his family and home. This dog will do well in any situation though they do have a few bad habits: drooling, snoring, and chronic flatulence.
Bulldog Characteristics
The Bulldog has a wrinkled forehead and triangular shaped ears that are set high on the head and flop over juts a bit. Their oval eyes are deep set and appear to be very far away from the ears. They have very well rounded, wrinkly cheeks and a broad black nose. Their top lip hangs over the noticeably shorter bottom jaw. The theme of this dogs body is thick. They have a deep, wide chest with the front legs at the sides. Their back legs are bow out and are thick as are the front legs while the tail short and hangs low. Their feet are pointed outwards as well and compact with well arched toes and stubby nails. They have a short coat that is smooth to the touch. The most common colors of this dog brindle, solid white, red, fawn or brindle and piebald.
Bulldog Health Concerns
This breed is prone to allergies, eye problems and dysplasia.
Choosing a Bulldog
Bulldogs will do fine in an apartment with sufficient exercise. Mainly this dog craves human attention and needs it to feel complete.
