About the Vizsla
The Vizsla, was created in Hungary and was used as a hunting dog.
Today, the Vizsla is used mainly as a companion dog.
Vizsla’s are is an excellent hunting dog who loves to be outside. Inside the home however, this energetic dog never seems to slow down. They are good natured and sensitive and love to play with their family members. If not given enough exercise and entertainment they will become destructive. These dogs are intelligent but their energy can make they process longer than with other breeds so owners must be patient. This breed is good with children but due to its hunting instincts, it should not be trusted around small animals.
The Vizsla has a thin frame with a medium sized skull, square muzzle, a strong jaw line, and thin lips. They have medium sized eyes in a color that matches their coat. Their ears are thin and long and rounded at the tips. Their chest is relatively broad against their thin frame. They have strong, straight legs with small round feet. Their coat is short and smooth and is a beautiful shade of solid golden rust.
This breed is prone to cancer, dysplasia, epilepsy, and eye problems.
The Vizsla has a boundless amount of energy and needs to be in a home with a yard where they can run around as they wish. They also make excellent running companions.
