Meatloaf Cake Idea

Comment 2: Last year, for my dogs birthday I made him a 6" - 2 layer Meatloaf "cake" and iced it with cheesy instant mashed potatoes & garnished it with a bit of shredded cheese. It was loved by one & all.

Another Cake Idea

Comment 3: My dogs birthday cake for every year until her 12th birthday was always an angel food cake (made with 12 egg whites, so it's full of protein - you can use the yolks to make custard, too) We topped this angel food cake with fresh strawberries and whipped cream (we called it strawberry shortcake even though it wasn't a shortcake) ... this is from Willow's favorite book, The Poky Little Puppy. This is a birthday cake we could eat, too, and we did! ... Even thought this is a fairly healthy cake for a dog, we didn't want her to over do it, so she always shared with us .... YUMMY!!!! If you don't like to bake, you can buy an angel food cake in the grocery store.
