Katrina Victim in Custody Case to Get Her Dog Back from Rescuer
“Forced to flee after Hurricane Katrina ravaged her home in August, Annabelle Arguello put her dogs in a temporary shelter in Louisiana. When she went to retrieve them a month later, they were gone.” Reported by New House News.
During Annabelle’s flee, a New Jersey woman Pam Behmke found an adoption day where she found Pluto, a Great Dane.
“Then came the call that revealed Behmke’s Pluto was Arguello’s cherished Chopper. Arguello wants her 18-month-old pet returned to his Kenner, La., home, but Behmke refuses to part with the animal.”
Understandably this is unpleasant for everyone involved with Chopper; difficult for Annabelle as she’s forced to go thru a lawsuit to get part of her family back, not including what she’s already gone thru, and difficult for Pam, as she has grown attached and developed a bond.
We certainly feel for them both but do hope that Chopper makes it back to his first family.
