White Bitesâ„¢ - The Newest Dog Treat on the Block!

Ok, another plug for my employer Jakks Pacific Inc. and it’s pet line JPIâ„¢. There’s a give away at the bottom! As many of you know, Bear, our Newfoundland, is a pretty spoiled guy and with most treats that we give him, unless it’s human food, he’ll blow off like it’s cat food. (He does however like the Scooby Snacks still.) I want you to know going into this, you do have Bear’s stamp of approval - he loves this treat! And it’s a great alternative to a past favorite of his.

White Bitesâ„¢ treats are safe and digestible, extremely tasty, baking soda infused oral care dog treats that your dog will treasure as they clean teeth and freshen breath.

White Bites Chart

White Bitesâ„¢ treats are especially formulated for dissolvability. A recent study conducted at the University of Illinois shows that the unique White Bitesâ„¢ treat formulation and manufacturing process achieves superior dissolvability. After a two stage gastric-intestinal digestibility assay, White Bitesâ„¢ treats achieved a 94.3% disappearance versus 30.7% disappearance of the leading brand. For the full press release, click here (Word Document).

Jeremy Padawer, the VP of brand development here had this to say of his own dog Bigs, who strangely doesn’t like me: “My very bizarre dog has very bad breath because he’s a street dog. He’s like a vacuum cleaner, so when I walk him around, he sucks up just about everything he can get his mouth around.” Consequently, Bigs’ gets a fair share of White Bitesâ„¢.
My own experience is positive as well. Bear has good hygiene so he doesn’t have a lot of plaque build up, but his breath does smell minty-fresh after his chew! And my nephew, (who happens to be a mini Yorkie), chewed the treat for about 15 min, but only on the right side of his mouth. The difference from side to side was more than I would have imagined; perhaps a year or two of build-up, gone, on one side. :)

So, I want you to try them! Rather, your dog. :)

So, does your dog have bad breath? Tell us about it! The 5 or 10 dogs with the worst breath, as posted here will receive a 8 oz bag of White-Bitesâ„¢ treats. Just tell me what bone size your dog would prefer, small/medium/large, and I’ll email you for your address and send them off to you. When you get the chance, let us know how your experience went!

Puck our rotti is 8.5 years old. He has the worst breath ever. We have tried everything for him. When you lay on the couch he comes over and huffs in your face..let me tell you its a good thing you are already laying down…..lol
If this meets Bears approval..then we must try this new product. I like that it is dissolvable too. Thanks for the info.

Sadie, our eleven year old Husky mix, has breath that could knock over a horse! We often refer to the smell coming from her mouth like the stench coming from the bottom of the dirtiest fish aquarium.
We would love to try a product endorsed by such incredibly well-known pooch such as Bear. Sadie would love it if everyone would not turn their head to her kisses as well!!

We would love to try White Bites for all three of our large and extra large pooches. Sadie would love it if everyone would not turn their head to her kisses as well!!

I would love to give these a try. Dixie has a show next month and her teeth look really bad for a 1 1/2 years old. She will not be still long enough for me to really brush them good.

Mika may be tiny, but apparently smelly things come in small packages. In addition, she is a VERY thorough licker, and by the time she’s done…whoa. I wonder if white bites are made small enough for her. It would be PERFECT! Plus, she’s starting to get some tartar on her back teeth =(

Well…I have 6 pupper with varying degrees of bad breath. I’m ashamed to say it, but Cyprus is also a poo eater so he pretty well wins the worst breath category here. Atticus also has some pretty bad breath. He gets stuff caught in his jowls and well…lets just say they stink.

Jamie could also use some white bites for his breath. He has that awful coffee breath that I would love to get rid of.

Will these be coming to Canada anytime soon ??

Can’t wait to try out all the sizes.

Before Keagan (our old mutt dog) came to live with us, he lived outside and wasn’t very well taken care of. Needless to say, neither were his teeth, so he occasionally gets some FUNKY issues going on in there. What makes it worse is that he likes to have his face RIGHT up next to your’s. And he breathes HARD. And he seems to think its quite funny to either cough or sneeze in your face, spraying stinky breath molecules all over you.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure we could use some White Brites around here.

If Bear gives his approval, then I cant wait to try White Brites at my house… where eight dogs breathe stank breath everywhere. The worst offender is Riley, the 6-year old wonder weimaraner. His breath is sooooo bad that when he kisses your face, or any exposed skin for that matter, it leaves an “after smell.” That’s right, you carry the aromal of Riley’s breath around until soap and water can save you! Where can one get White Brites? And can they be purchased by the truck load!?

The worst dog breath I’ve ever smelled belongs to our 5 year old Saint Bernard, Cash. His amazingly bad breath smells like rotten seafood. He’ll crawl up into bed and will pant right in our faces, gagging us with the stench. I won’t even mention smelly drool he leaves on our pillows…Some of these White Bites would definitely come in handy around here! *LOL* The BIG ones would be preferable :)

Tsu is 12 years old and the undesputed Queen of Putrid Breath-dom. I love her and she is priceless to me but ugh I wish she could give up her throne! Now in her seasoned age, she has started the lovely habit of “recycling” her dinner so that makes her breath even MORE appealing! I would love to see if large sized White Bites could dethrone the Queen!

Our Dane, Skuy, takes the cake! He doesn’t give lickies but he does wake me up in the mornings with a big ol’ stinky yawn right in my face :| He’s had a cleaning recently and that helped for a short time, but now we’re back at square one. He’s kind of finicky, but I’d love to try White Bites - the bigger the better for my smelly boy!

Ivy, our Weimaraner, also loves a good chew!

I have 3 dogs, but there is one out of all of them who reaks! He could beat a skunk in a battle just by breathing! It’s digsuting. And since he doesn’t let us brush his teeth, it’s even worse! His name is chancellor and he is a Chow Chow/Akita mix. If he won’t take them, my two other dogs, Tucker (Cairn Terrier), and Jetta (GSD/Ridgeback mix), will probably enjoy them. (They could probably use a little breath mint after they eat! It might even prevent their breaths from getting worse! xD) Thanks for this oppurtunity!

I would like to give this a try. We have a german shepherd named Bode that loves cat poop. He loves to go out and eat it and then come up and give big old smooches! YUCK!!
And the smell lingers in his breath for hours until we can’t stand it and throw him back out in the yard, where he finds more cat poop……

My older dog Mickey, an Irish Red & White Setter, has breath so bad that in the dark its hard to tell which end the stench comes from. I have to reach out to see if its his head or his back end that is emitting the odor. I have tried feeding him other bones and such that are for bad breath, but so far nothing works. He can’t be put under so the vet can clean his teeth, and I can’t get him to stay still so I can brush them, so I’m kind of in a tough spot with the old Dude. Maybe White Bites will be the answer?!

I also have Nukka, an Alaskan Malamute pup that LOVES to eat Cat, chicken, goat and horse poo. The horse and goat isn’t so bad, but boy, does she ever reek when she gets into the chicken and cat poo! And of course she feels the needs to “share the wealth” with me by breathing in my face in bed at night. Between Nukka and Mickey my nasal hairs are chronically wilted!

I was wondering if maybe the US Military would want to use these 2 as secret weapons of mass destruction before other enemy counties find out anout them. Their breath would certainly level a city. And its all natural and renewable, unless the White Bites will help. You could keep the world safe by stopping their bad breath. Just think of the disaster the enemies could inflict on the US if they got ahold of Mickey and Nukka! Mass Choas! Entire cities melted. Nasal passages on large populations burned and rendered useless! Help save the world! Give Mickey and Nukka a sample of your White Bites!!!!!!!!!!!!

They would both prefer large bones. How about bones big enough to have come from a Tyrannasaurus Rex?

My 11-year old labrador retreiver service dog Ike, has some nasty breath at times. He will let my Dad who is a dentist scrape his teeth, but it doesn’t always do the job… and I won’t let him be put under because he is too old and I am afraid the seperation axiety would do more harm than good…
Perhaps these would be good for him to chew.

We rescued a senior golden retriever from a puppy mill. Molly has never had any care in her entire life, all she has known is breeding and abuse. She is terrified of everything, so she hasn’t been able to go to the vet and get her dental done. We’ve established that she has decent teeth, they just need cleaning. Since that isn’t going to happen until she stops shaking when you come near her, her breath will continue to smell like something died in there. I’m sure she would love some fancy treats to make her mouth taste better. Treats are new to her and she has learned to really enjoy them.

My 7 month old Neo, Laika, has really rotten breath. She loves to be up close and personal, too, and since her mouth is bigger than my head…well, she emits a lot of odor. To make matters worse, both her and my other dog, Kingsley, burp. It’s like a game for them. They will come up to us and put their faces right next to ours and burp. They look all happy afterward, like they’ve found a surprise in their mouth, while whoever has to smell it runs away gagging. I’ve tried different types of dog food, Greenies, about every type of breath mint on the market, but nothing can take care of the darn burps. I’ve never known a dog to burp before, but it’s just my luck that I got two dogs who do, and take such pride in it.

I do Akita Rescue and bring in Akitas from all walks of life. Some of them have never had a decent meal, let alone any health care or dental work. Some Akitas don’t know what treats are until they come here, so they are so grateful for anything given to them!! I’d love to find out if this product would work to help their bad breath as well as make them happy to be getting treats — 2 for 1!!! With so many Akitas in our care at all times, its costly to keep treats on hand — so anything free is right up our alley!! If you want one specific Akita to be named, it would have to be Bunny, the Hurricane Katrina girl we have here now who had heartworm & entropian. Her teeth were horrid so her breath is enough to turn your stomach - she could really use these treats!!!

Ive gave my dogs greenies and doggie tooth brush/tooth paste but it seems like it’s not working with bad breath. Their teeth is clean but their breath is so stinky that I would wake up from my nap. Chewy loves to lick but with the bad breath it makes me want to yak.I am sure my dogs would want their mouth feeling fresh and smelling good.

I personally refer to Murray’s breath as the smell of a decaying corpse to people who have not met him. He is a Chinese Crested-Chiauiau mix so he has the little dig syndrome. He thinks he is the baddest, and no one will dispute that. Everyone is afraid he will breath on them. Literally, its almost painful to be in the same room. Now if I could get something to destink the other end on all of my dogs…….

Lizzie, our 5 year old female dachshund came to us from a puppy mill after being “retired” from breeding. She also came with the most unhealthy teeth we’ve ever seen. The bad ones were removed and the rest cleaned. She also gets daily brushing but her breath is still awful from years of neglect.

I have a small 3 lb. yorkie named Eden, but let me tell you her breath smells as if it comes from a 30 lb drooling, disgusting mutt. She is just so cute that everyone wants to hold her, but she gets close to their face they instantly put her down and make a sour face. I feel so bad, I’ve tried greenies, larger dry food (she has never had wet food), and even having all her baby teeth pulled. Stll the raunchy breath remains. I’ve bought the doggie toothpaste and brush and she hates it. If Bear approves of the taste, I’m sure Eden will as well because she is just as picky. She needs this, and I need this! Please help us!!

My husband and I rescued a beautiful cocker spaniel named Brodie. I love dogs and I’m used to dog breath of all kinds. I don’t say that lightly since I work in animal rescue and we get a lot of stinky dogs. Even with all of that, I have NEVER met a dog with worse breath than my Brodie! We took him to the vet to see if it was the sign of some disease but they found nothing. We tried just about every breath aid made for dogs with no success. Well, we finally figured out the problem… our Brodie is a butt licker. This wouldn’t be so bad, but Brodie also has an over-active anal gland. If you know how bad the anal sac juices smell, just imagine them “aging” in a stinky dog’s mouth~

My Yorkie is 12 years old. Her teeth are so rotten that her mouth smells like something died. I love her since I’ve had her so long, but I cannot hold her up to my face to hug and kiss her; the mouth stinch is unbearable. I have to warn visitors not to pick her up or touch her due to the mouth stink! I do not know what to do?

My 5 year old Boston Terrier had a bad reaction to the white bite treats. She was very sick the day after she ate one and vomitted frequently. To be on the safe side I would not buy these treats again.
