Yeah - black tongue is just that … black tongue. Spots, streaks, blotches … whatever.

Not a chow a black tongue makes.

Anyway, I would like to address the validity of this test? Does this make a unknown dog now a pure bred if the test comest back 100%? If so, is this an AKC recognized method?

Figuring out the breed of your dog can also help you avoid possible health issues particular breeds might have. I’ve helped many of my clients figure out what breeds their dog are and it has helped a few of them figure out health issues they were having.

PS - a black tongue does not “always” signify it is a chow mix

Thanks for the post. I always wonder whether my dog is purebreed or not as the sales claimed since she does look a bit different when compared to other purebreds.
