Today we live in a society that is devoted adding substances to their bodies in order to achieve peak performance at

Like people, dogs are also given various enriching vitamins and minerals to help them get the most out of their lives. Many dog stores carry supplements with several ingredients mixed together while others are sold individually. Some are well known although the exact benefits of the supplement might not be known. Below you will find a list of supplements given to dogs by their owners which can help to enhance their appearance, behavior, and even their internal body functions along with the natural benefits that they can provide.
List of Common Dog Supplements and Vitamins
Calcium: This helps to promote better nerve and muscle functions, help the blood to clot and to keep bones strong
Chondroitin: This is used as an anti-inflammatory as well as a joint lubricant. The recommended dosage is 400 mg per day for every 25 lbs.
Flax Seed Oil: This is used to help promote healthy skin and fur. The recommended dosage is 3 capsules per day for a dog about 125 lbs.
Folic Acid: Help to maintain a healthy blood and protein metabolism rate. The recommended dose is 5mg per day.
Garlic: This helps to keep fleas away from your dog from the inside out as well as detoxify the body. The recommended dosage is 2g per day for each 25 lbs.
Glucosamine: This is used as an anti-inflammatory as well as a joint lubricant. The recommended dosage is 500 mg per day for every 25 lbs.
Vitamin C: This helps to maintain good connective tissue as well as keep the joints well lubricated. The recommended dose is 500-1000 mg per day.
Vitamin E: This helps create a healthy coat, fight infections, and is an anti-inflammatory. The recommended dose is 2000 IU per day for a 50 lb. dog.
