Standard Goldendoodle Characteristics

Breed Group: Mixed Breed
Height: Male: 22-24 inches tall, Females: 21-23 inches tall
Weight: Male: 55-75 lb., Female: 45-60 lb.
Color: Chocolate, Goldend, Black and Cream
Temperment: Goldendoodles are very sharp and learn quickly. Obedience comes natural and respond well to commands as they love to interact. Friendly and happy, Goldendoodles make great pets that get along well with children, pets, guests and neighbors. At the same time however, the Goldendoodle is loyal to its own family.
Origins: The Goldendoodle is a cross between the Golden Retriever and Poolde. This mixed or hybrid breed was started in North America following the creation of the Labradoodle in Australia, and for many of the same reasons. To breed the best traits and assests of both breeds into one, as well as produce a dog with minimal allergens - helpful for folks and families with allergies to dogs.


Introduction

Goldendoodles, much like Labradoodles, is a mixed breed or hybrid dog born from the Golden Retriever and the Poodle. Goldendoodles resemble both breeds in temperment and other characteristics. They are naturally intelligent, active, and love hunting and swimming in the water. The Goldendoodle tends to take the build of the Retriever but the coat of the Poodle. Overall, the Goldendoodle makes a great family pet and companion that is well balanced, happy, and loyal.

About the Goldendoodle

Goldendoodles and Labradoodles tend to have the stronger legs of the Labrador and Retriever but the coat of the Poodle. The coat is typically non-shedding is produces much less allergy symptoms that are common from dog allergens. Labradoodle colors vary from Black, Chocolate, Silver, Cream and White while Goldendoodles carry the golden colors. Three sizes, Standard (the full size), Medium and Miniature are found to be bred. Labradoodles are more commonly known to have a broad head with large eyes that are set apart, a large square nose, and ears set above eye level.

Both Goldendoodles and labradoodles need frequent exercise on a daily basis. With high energy levels, they will be quite active and need room to play. Known to live up to 15 years of age, the Golden and Labra doodles are a dog that most will enjoy as their companion for many years.
