As some of you know, we have been having quite the time finding a "newfie" sister for Joy. Yesterday, we kind of solved that problem. We decided to wait for the next puppy from Joy's breeder. That is looking like June or July, a long time when your wife is waiting for a puppy.
Dot had come upon an ad a few days ago in a farming newspaper so we decided to call.....just to see. This breeder thinks along the same lines as we do. She only had one pup left. Next thing you know we were on the way to Calgary....5 hour trip... We came home with Amy, an Irish Wolfhound. We got home at 6 am. We are both bushed. The kids will get a surprise when they get home from school! She is 15 weeks old and 53 lbs. Here are a few quick pics

There is a IW just around the corner from me named Max and I think he's absolutely adorable! I can't wait to watch Miss Amy grow up on BPO!!!!!

Aww, she's so very cute and cuddly. The kids are going to go berserk when they come home ;D My neighbour had one when i was growing up, great dog, didn't like my cat so much though - maybe because she attacked "his" cat. LOL.

OOOH my Goodness, she is too cute, old neighbour had a male who was very funny(wouldn't do his business in his yard ~ owner had to walk him in all types weather down 2 houses and he'd go ::)) very gentle and sweet. I see her standing against the baby gate, you might think thats cute now because she's a baby just wait acouple months and she'll clear it ;D cannot wait to see more pics, like everyone else I love baby pics.

Oh my GOSH. I have wanted an IW for years- they are not so common in this part of the world and so I never even get to see one... ugh- I am already in love with your little Amy. I must agree with the rest of the board- pics and lots of them. Congrats on the precious little (big) girl.

I have read that Wolfhound puppies shouldn't be crated, have you ever heard that? It came up somewhere in mine and Will's research. We hope to adopt one at some point as well, so we have done all kinds of studying.
I am now putting in my request for more pictures!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

Wolfhounds are so cool, you will have a blast. We have had 3 wolfhounds in our puppy class the whole time we've been going and they're so much fun.

sarnewfie, i wish i could have seen the IW you were talking about! i worked with one that was working on his championship points (worked with his groomer) and he was an absolute doll, he was actually one of the first two big paws i met (he and a bernese show dog came to us for grooming before shows, and we went to locals to groom there). IW's always have an awesome personality, and so sweet! i can't wait to see how this baby grows up!
