: An introduction.. We have a name!
: Lyn February 18, 2008, 04:48:55 AM
Introducing our new little baby boy! He's only 4 weeks old at the moment. Weighing in at 7 pounds, 2 ounces. Am I crazy.. yeah probably. LOL But we wanted a 3rd big paw and a male was our best bet. The breed was a given. ;)

I need some name suggestions. Here's the short list we have at the moment. I'm trying to decide which one he looks most like?

Niko
Gunner
Angus
Judge

Angus and Judge remind me alot of 2 other saints on the board. Connies Judge and Nickers Angus and AC's Newf Angus. So It kind of seems awkward to use those ones. Everytime I say those names I picture someone elses dog. LOL

Any other name ideas you all can think of let me know. It doesn't have to go with Bubba or Lola. I was actually hoping for something completely different.

He's Beautiful/Adorable/Total Sweetness!  :-* You must be SO excited!

I really like Niko too.

One I've always held high on my list (but have never known one) is Deacon.

Have you started your calendar countdown? I'll bet you have.

Too adorable! I really like the name Niko, too.

Magnus is my favorite! I like Deacon and Judge, too. Oddly enough, when I saw the pup's pic, the name Arthur popped into my head. I have no clue where that came from!

AWWWWWWWWWWWW! CUTE!

For some reason, when I hear Niko, I think of a slender sleek dog. Like a Weim or something. I love the name it just doesn't seem very "Saintish" to me.

I don't have any suggestions, though. Its hard for me to come up with names!!! I like silly made-up names.

He is so adorable!!!!!  I just wanna tickle that little fat belly!!!!!   :P
Magnus is a great name.

I added Magnus to the short list. I'll show hubby when he gets home. LOL Liz.

Nicole.. I think the same thing with Niko. Hubby really likes it though. I like Gunner and Judge. Angus was a given because of the cow reference. LOL Hubby calls Bubba his big moo cow. :D

Other names we 'had' on the list were Ace, Apollo and Rocky (hubby and his Rocky movies, LOL), Deuce and Kane and I think Thor was on there too. But I wanted something a little different.

Lori, I already mentioned Gunther. I had an Oscar (fish) named Gunther so hubby gave me the ummm no look. LOL

Keep the suggestions coming.. I'm copying them all down. ;)

hahaha, Mango. CUTE!

So, what is the story?! Where is he coming from? I guess I've missed a lot! I feel bad I haven't been checking in enough. Is Lola going to be cool with another dog? (If I recall, she was not very um...happy with other dogs, right?)

Yup I'm positive Lola will be fine this time. Her problem turned out to be female/female aggression with other large dogs. Expecially dominant females. We have been working alot with her though.. just can't get past her issues with other girls.

Honestly.. He is from an opps litter. She is a good hearted person that admits her screw up and is taking all the right steps to place the pups in big paw experienced homes. We were debating on it since they were born.. But I didn't want to mention him until I knew for sure he was mine. So you didn't miss anything. ;)

The Chicago Bears used to have a player, Steve McMichael and his nickname was "Mongo".  He was a brute!!!!
Just a thought.

When I see a "Saint" I think of

Bubba
Brutos
Bruto
Bentley
Bear

Not sure why they all start with Bs :D

lol, you'd be amazed at the number of Saints whose names begin with B!

Sorry, I don't have any great name suggestions! I usually end up picking names out of movies or books!  :D

Ohhh, I guess I did miss that Lola has female/female issues. See, I do miss stuff!!! And, when babies are eating more brain cells than you had to begin with, you forget what you already knew. Sorry!!! hahaha!

Well, he's super adorable, either way. I'm sure Lola will just love him to bits when she meets him!

It's been just over a year now of working with her. I know I posted some of her progress but it was pretty slow for awhile there. At first she was lashing out at any dog that came near her including Bubba. I ready to check myself into a mental institution. LOL Once the stress level went down she started targeting individual dogs. Stella was actually the one that brought up the female/female aggression way back when. I was curious so we tested her further and voila! It's been a couple months now and no progress. She doesn't want any girly friends. :'(
