Now we think that Bell and Baxter are ready to be loose in the house. We want to start gradually. We REALLY want to keep them in the kitchen because it is tile and a very large area.
the only thing is we need a baby gate that will go across a 13 ft area. It is also going to come in hand y to keep the baby out of the kitchen when she starts to crawl and walk. Any suggestions anyone???

Drs Foster and Smith had a couple of expansion dog gates in thier catalog. I think one was even a taller gate that was about 3 feet high and had the door in it. I got my dog gates at Target but I don't remember seeing one that would expand to 13 feet. Hope that helps.

We use a shorter version of type of gate:

It doesn't say how long this gate can be, but with ours (also from Petsmart) you can buy additional panels to extend it. The big advantage to this kind of gate though is that kitty paws can walk through easily. I'm not sure if you have cats or not, but if so, I really recommend this type. Also, the Petsmart cust. svc. person that I talked with was very helpful. ;)
BTW, I see that your baby is due soon. How are you feeling? :)

This is the gate we used to have at the old house, works really well, as long as they can't jump on/over it :) And it helps if you have puppies too!
