As alot of you know, we have been having health issues with memphis for the last few months. as this month progressed, he lost control of his bowels, and most of his mobility. Getting him outside took about 10 minutes, to walk approx 15ft. he was always falling down, when walking when just standing and even when he was pottying. it had gotten to the point he would cry when he was moving, and always hunched in his neck/back...
Today we made the decision to let him cross. he told us it was time, his eyes showed us. he will never be forgotten... and always loved.
Memphis is now playing with his big brother Zeussy, Tenchi, Ellie, Maverick and all of our other loved ones who are at the bridge...
Sleep well Memphis, we will never forget you.

I'm so sorry that your oh so handsome boy Memphis had to make that journey. He really was so dignified looking. I didn't want to read this thread because I knew someone had to make an agonizing decision. I'm so sorry.
Everyone, especially Memphis knows how special your pups are to you.
I hope your are romping without pain and your playing with your BPO buds.

thank you all for all the love. Memphis was a great boy, he brought alot of happiness and alot of craziness. he was a beautiful boy and it is very hard to walk by his bed and him not be there...
all your words have meant alot to me, and i thank you all. it has brought many tears to my eyes knowing that you all care so much about a boy you have never met...

So sorry about your dog...I know how hard it is to let a dog that you love with all your heart go....but know that he is happy running around with no pain, just like a pup again! Letting a dog go is one of the most selfless things you could ever do for him. He was a good dog to you, and you re-paid him by letting him go when it was his time. Be brave and strong...((hugs))

Sorry I'm catching this alittle late. Jodi and Darcy you did the best thing for this old regal man, you listened to him when it was time, and he thanks you for that. I know it doesn't make it any easier..but I'm proud of you ~

I had to say goodbye to my beloved Tater Marie (basset) around this time last year (just after Christmas and right before my birthday). I know what you are going through and how tough your decision must have been ... but a mama knows. We sure feel sorry for ourselves when they are gone though don't we! Find peace in knowing you did the right thing and remember all the goofy times and smile.
Maybe your big boy will run into my sweet girl on the other side.

im sure memphis is now playing with all of your loved ones, happy, healthy, able to walk and run... he will be there with them, watching over us...

thanks Patty, Memphis is a great name for anyone. his name was almost "Cash" or "riot" Cash- cause he cost us alot of it, and Riot because when we first picked him up, he was running around at the breeders house pulling floor mats, flipping them upside down, just causing a riot. but im glad we decided on Memphis... it suited him well.

I'm so sorry. Even though you know you are doing right by your sweet boy, I know how hard it is. Please know you are in our thoughts. Hopefully it will bring you some peace knowing that he is young again and pain free and that he knew he was well loved.

I'm so sorry Jo...I truly am. My heart goes out to you...please let me know if there's anything I can do. We will all miss seeing pics of the big guy...he will be forever remembered and forever missed. You guys did the right thing, as hard as it is... :-* :-* :-*
