Awwwe, he is adorable!  I love his brown nose and it almsot looks like he has a stripe extending from his nose to the top of his head.

Makes him look very debonaire..... .....lol.
I didn't know you were in the market for another pooch.

I love him... Jo, can I just come over and hang out with all your cool pets?  ;D

well, we weren't exactly in the market for one... he sort of happened... Actually, darcy wanted to get a chihuahua, and so i was browsing those silly kijiji and craigslist, etc. looking for something that needed a home. and since darcy is way too picky, i knew i'd never find one. then one day i was on and saw an ad for a Xolo. i always been fascinated by them, i love hairless anything..  so i emailed them and they wrote back. we spoke for about a week and they told me they had many responces and think our home sounds best. so we waited a week (for pay day) and went and picked him up tonight.
oh and he does have a patch of hair on top of his head, lets just say, i almost named him PUBERT! lol

BWAAAHAHAHAHHA HAHAAAA!  That is hilarious!
There was a large xolo up for adoption here back in the summer and I saw them repost it here recently.  Dont' know what he was asking for it, but it was a very nice looking dog.

one day i will have me a standard sized Xolo... imported from Mexico... one day i say! lol
they are so rare, i dont know why anyone would get rid of them... and so far Pavi is doing so well, and hes so cute. he follows zero around all over the house. its way too cute. Zero is the least one i expected to get along so well.

So do you plan on getting all the hairless breeds?

You still need a peruvian inca orchid and american hairless terrier....... .....lol.  ;)

My friend is actually on a waiting list for a Peruvian. shes getting one straight from Peru. hehe. we havent thought much of any other of the breeds. i do want a standard xolo someday, because i prefer the larger dogs, and large AND Hairless- perfect ;)  but i'd like a sphynx- i've wanted one since i was really young. a sphynx and a fold hehe

the chinese crested is already on my list, but thats another 10+ yrs down the road.  I really do like the look of the american  hairless as well.  In my opinion the best looking "fully" hairless breed out there.

they are good looking, i admit- but... i love the crested look, and we have a great breeder who we became good friends with over the years. and the xolo just stole my heart. his personality is priceless. here is a standard xolo- *drool* one i'd love

He's a cutie!!!!  I love his little brown nose!  :)

I love the big Xolo's.  They look like powerhouses!

I wonder if its the same gene for my hairless ratties.  They get a sparse coat when they are babies, but then loose it by a couple months old and then just have the fur on their face, if that.

I love the live hot water bottles and they almost feel like suede.  Here are some pics of my guys.  I need some newer pics of them though, they're a lot bigger now.  lol

Awwe, Moni those are too cute!  I've never seen albino nakkies, only the hooded ones.  They are on my list after my current rats pass.  I want one hairless and one blue and I want one of them (or both) to be a dumbo.

It depends on the breed as to whether it is the same gene or not.  the American Hairless, hairless gene is different than the other hairless breeds.

Super cute, Moni! Darcy wont let me have a hl rat or skinny pig... but i bet they feel interesting... reba and pavi actually have a different feel to their skin. its super hard to explain. and he gives off WAY more heat than she does... i know the sphynx feel different also, so i wonder if its the same with rats? Hmmm.
: Re: Introducing Pavi.
: ZooCrew January 18, 2009, 10:53:33 AM
Hmmm........it s been awhile since I've been around a hairless rat, but they are pretty soft.  they do feel different than sphynx cats, which are a bit more rough feeling (although they don't feel rough), hmmmm......not explaining myself well.........l ol.

Out of all the hairless pets I've come into contact with, hairless rats are the softest.  Followed by the sphynx, then the chinese crested.

isnt it neat how different they are...
darcy ran into his boss today so we stopped the car and we introduced her (and her hubby) to Pavi. the hubby really liked him but she said he felt like an old man and that he felt gross. LOL

Looks like he discovered your cats too! Are they getting along?

Ohh a Xolo...cool dogs. Never use to see them around until lately they seem to be becoming more popular.

they are pretty cute. i really am enjoying this guy, minus the marking in the house... and being obsessed with me... i feel bad, darcy bought him, and the lil guy wants nothing to do with darcy. (sort of like how reba is with me...LOL)
but he sucks to go outside, i feel bad throwing him outside in our -30 weather. eeww. poor bugger.
