: Digging in the yard?
: polkadotchas April 17, 2009, 12:46:07 PM
Thullee apparently loves to dig  :-\. I don't think he does it to try to get out of the yard because he does it randomly in the yard or by the side of the house. I'm thinking it's because he's bored but we don't leave him outside. He is always inside with me unless he scratches to go potty or we are out there playing. So in the 5 minutes he's out there to go potty he digs. Any ideas on how to stop it besides me standing out there while he goes?

adult supervision is probably your best bet.   Grace was a digger too.  She grew it out of it after a few years.

I've looked into it a bit awhile back. I read the chicken wire but mine is not in mulch really its in the yard.I've also heard burying their own poo in it to defer them or cayenne pepper.I've used the  penny can before with other dogs i've owned.. Didn't even think about that. I've never seen him dig when I was out there. But yesterday was gorgeous so we where out there for a long time and he started to I said NO and he stopped and looked at me like what? I potty I run I dig out here you don't want me to dig? He doesn't like getting in trouble so I think the penny can might work well.   Not for in the house problems though haha he pees when he gets scared :( Thanks for all the advice guys! I'm sure he'll grow out of it he's a good puppy!
It's not a major problem just something I don't really like him doing haha. I've only found 4 holes so far.

Aurora loves to dig. She can have a huge trench in a matter of minutes. Athena like to grab chunks od sod and run while I try to get them out of her mouth. She then will eat them leaving lots of muddy drool. ::) So yea my yard is looking pretty bad.  :(
