Hey everyone! ??? I'm still here, just haven't been on the computer. I'm not upset, mad, or have hurt feelings if some of you thought so. My internet provider went down and that's why I've not been able to post until tonight. I couldn't even get on the internet from my home since the evening of my last post.
I really do not mind constructive criticism and no one did any damage by saying the things that needed to be said. I needed EVERYONE'S input (the good, bad and ugly) on this situation w/my "possessed" puppy. In my line of "business" if I cannot take the lumps w/the laughter, I'm no good to anyone. The same goes here in this forum.
The BPO group has thrown me so many life lines over the past few months that I just cannot express my appreciation enough. I really enjoy winding down by reading the posts about all the antics and animals - human and otherwise. This IS my enjoyment lately (working from home and being almost homebound as my mother convalesses in my home) by corresponding w/people who love their dogs, pets and lives enough to share that w/me and others here.
I appreciate all the advice as well as insights to other breeds' debacles and triumphs. I have found a HOME here and feel welcome even if I'm wrong - family members don't always agree, but they know they can come "in", share with each other and leave knowing they are welcome anytime.
I want to thank EVERYONE who has shared their experiences and best wishes with me and given great advice. I posted the last post about Petra because there many decisions I am grapling with and I felt some of the readers here needed a break from hearing blow-by-blow details of Petra's bad deeds. No one likes to even imagine some of the options and it was beginning to be upsetting to some.
I will be the first to agree that the subject of PETRA was getting on my nerves... ::) :P because Petra was getting on my last nerve too. Please accept my apology for any misunderstandi ng I (yes - I ) caused by the last posting about Petra.
I really do love it here and love the supportive atmosphere at BPO. :)
Petra is doing ok - so far. I read a post from Red about her having her dogs noosed around a grooming table - or something to that effect - before grooming the nails and I am still laughing about how I thought to myself it was a good thing Petra wasn't noosed when she bit me or....else she may not have to have been the topic ever again. ;) :P
Petra is learning some HARD lessons - I AM ALPHA (not her) HEAR ME ROAR. I was bitten one last time and can I say {{{{(BODY-SLAM)}}}} has worked out quite well. I've grabbed her by her collar and flipped her over on her back, pinning her till she stops trying to bite me and holds still. She seems to have a whole different aspect of me lately.
She's friendly, sweet, loving, cuddles but when she exerts her dominance in the least, I flip her on her back rather roughly, pin her there till she stops trying to even play bite and when she's still, she is allowed up. I make her watch me eat before she gets ANYTHING! She isn't allowed to be in the same room w/us after a certain time of day unless she has to go relieve herself.
I won't go into it anymore, but wanted to let you ALL know I love this place! I don't want anyone to leave or be upset over thinking I had my feelings hurt. I myself was even getting tired of talking about Petra. Who can blame anyone for thinking the same way?

So glad that you are back Smohr! I missed you and Petra and am glad that the issues are getting worked out. Cute picture..she looks like she has something mischevious on her mind. :D

I'm glad to see you back. It sounds like Petra may have finally figured out who is in charge? I think it's great you are dishing out the tough love, I know some people wouldn't be able to do that.
I hope everything works out with you and Petra and she can lay her demons to rest.

She needs guidance, and you are carrying the flag.
Don't accept anything short of 'Perfect' behavior.
Treat with good behavior, when she does good.
Whithdraw the treats when she misbehaves.
You are responsible for your dogs behavior.
Control yourself, tour dog will follow.

Good to hear Petra is beginning to behave! I want to hire your consultant!
Please do not feel that you are the cause of this whatever it is that is happening. I do not believe that is the case. Just keep coming and giving us updates and asking questions. ;D

I am so glad you are still here and so SO glad to hear that things are going better with Petra! I am starting to have some trouble with Nigel thinking he's in charge of the whole household so in the near future I might be asking you for advice!!! ;D

I don't know what happened over the weekend but I noticed your posts were all gone so I thought you left. There aren't many neo owners here so I'm really glad you didn't! I think it's great that you have come this far with Petra with all the problems she has given you. You have probably already checked out Neapolitan.org but if you haven't, you can learn a lot about neos there. I'm really glad things are going better with her. :)

Hi, I'm pretty new here, but I had read some of your posts before I joined. I think I have you dogs sister! I call her demon dog. I still love her, but she is a handful. I am so happy you did not leave. I can learn alot from you. How old is your pup? My shyla is about 9 or 10 mos and has bitten.

Smohr, thanks so much for letting us know you and Petra are well. Sounds like things may be getting better for you! You may have a small set back here or there, but it sounds to me like you've found something that works. You're doing a great job with that little girl!! ;D

Hey Smohr, remove backside, darlin'. Unless you're into the whole S&M thing. ;D ; ::) ;D This whole mess was bigger than us all as individuals, and had many causes and more behind the scenes stuff than any of us peons will ever know, so don't sweat it.
On a lighter note, I am thrilled that Petra seems to be turning a corner for the better.<APPLAUSE< APPLAUSE> Keep up the good work and stay in touch.
