I live in Alabama so i would love to meet some of our fellow BPO's around here. I have managed to meet three by my training classes but i think it would be really fun to get everyone together like they are doing in the east. We should have one big BPO party and everyone meet somewhere but heres to hoping. If you live somwhere in the southeast and would like to meet please post.

Sounds like fun. I'd be up for it.

I'm in Kentucky and would love to meet folks on here, even though my big paw is only a wee pup!

What is a good month for everyone?
-
Any of these sound good?
Atlanta, Ga. Feb 3-4
Ft. Walton/Pensacola Fl. Feb 28 - March 5
Montgomery Al. April 28-30
-
OOH! The one in Montgomery is over my birthday!!
-
oh im gettin so excited thinking about this :D ;D :) cant wait!!!
-
Montgomery sounds like the most feasible to me. I'll see about "booking" the colliseum/Crawford arena or the livestock barns. The field there is fenced for the most part. Usually you have to clean up after yourself, etc. You know, common sense stuff. The other issue is housing. I don't know of any hotels in that area except one that will take pets and that's the Key West in Wetumpka...abo ut 10 min or so from the coliseum. There may be some lee-way since the dog show is there for the weekend and other hotels may allow them for that time frame as well. (yes, I know my spelling sucks...) Anyway, ya'll tell me what you want me to do...I'm pretty game for anything that doesn't happen in March.
Also, how about a "local" get together for those of us in South AL? There's several of us here in Baldwin and Mobile counties so I'm just thinking out loud...
-
about what would be the price for the hotel so i could have plenty of $ saved up and ready.. ;D
-
That would be perfect!! I can't wait to meet you all (I mean y'all).
-
oh i know april seems so far away now - pre warning to you guys , ANGEL JUMPS ON YOU :D but for kisses :)

This looks like a good place, and Monticello is not too far from the coliseum. They might be using the arena areas , at least Ed Teague for the obedience trials at the coliseum on the days of the dog show.
ps; that hotel is 1/2 mile from the shakespeare festival which is an awesome place to walk your dog around.. beautiful grounds & it's free.

Another thing.. doesn't matter to me, but just throw this out, Pensacola has 2 offleash dog parks, never been to either of them they could be horrible for all I know , but could scout them out if people were interested in this option, as well as the beaches... course our retarted dog would run off :) But that would add about another 3 hours of travel from anyone coming north of montgomery.. :(
-
Maybe we should plan a Saturday or Sunday to check out the dog parks.

how about april 29th??? that falls on a saturday :)

I'm game either way. I also have a retard that would take off at the drop of a hat so I definately have to either have them on leash or in a fenced area. Added to that is the "Dissa-Pyr" Baloo. (Another story for another thread)
If had my druthers, it would be in Montgomery during the show time so we can go to the show. I know a couple of people there that could "puppy-sit" for us depending on where we are staying, etc. Hotels there run around $100 per night. Monticello usually runs a little more cause that's the upper side of town. And don't believe what they say about time from the coliseum. It takes 15 min to get through the first red light over there. Just a warning....I grew up there and know the area very well. The Eastern Bypass is a traffic nightmare...fo r those who are local here, think Airport. :) Zelda or Ann St locations would be very close and anything on 231. You aren't closer geographically, just closer due to traffic and lights. However, the Shakespeare Festival is something to see and my dogs love it there. There's ducks and swans to chase and tons of people to get lovings from and other people to scare :) I had to throw that in. Anyway, ya'll decide and let me know.
What about the local one?

montgomery or pensacola doesnt matter.. i know angel woud love the beach but not sure id love her in there , sharks :o :o :o , montgomery sounds nice :)
