i know he has chow but clueless on rest.. see what you guys think..

He certainly is cute. Well, if I had to take a guess, I would say either a spitz type breed, a shiba, or even a jindo mix.

yea ive heard gsd a couple times.. but he seems so small for a gsd being only 15" at his shoulders

That's why I thought maybe Jindo. ;) They are a bit bigger than shibas, but fall into the same family. Size wise, it's shiba, jindo, akita. A friend of mine has a jindo too, and she also looks similar to chewie. Let me see if I can find a pic of her.

Kind of reminds me of a chunky Finnish Spitz especially the eyes and his 'knickers', but to be honest it could be absoltuely anything in there. My chow used to have a 'girlfriend' locally and she was half chow, half labrador. She was so like a smooth chow that she would have passed as one in a showring and you would have never guessed in a million years her mum was a lab.
He's lovely though and there's one thing we can say for certain is there's definitely chow in there!

From the looks of things I'd say Chow/ Shep and who knows what else...it kinda depends on what's common in your area...around here that would be the extent. We don't have much of a diversity to choose from in my area. Everything around here is either Shep, Chow, Lab, Pit or Beagle X...anything else is kinda out of the question. In some of the pics it looked like he had a slight saddle which is why shep came to mind. He's very pretty though!

I was gonna say GSD, too until I saw those Jindo pictures! They do look alike!! 'course he could be small because of the chow side of him and he could be a mix of a mix of a mix, too. Those are the BEST kind anyway!

I'll bet he's a Chow/American Eskimo cross.
Because if you dyed Max Lady Clairol #15 and added some darker highlights, he'd look just like Chewie, from the shape of his face and his muzzle, to the set of his eyes, to his furry pants.
And 15" is Eskie size, too.
