There definaly not a breed for everyone. I did alot of research about the breed before I decided to make the leap to owning one. Sobek has been solicalized & train'd since a puppy. They have very strong guarding instincts not only at home but outside of the home aswell. I never had to train him to be a guard dog, he does it naturally, instead ive focused all his training on self control. There very strong mind'd and will make a discision on there own and are very stubborn.  They were raised to guard flocks of sheep and move with them pasture to pasture, the sheperd would not always be around to give them commands to guard the sheep, instead they had to react to threat on thier own without bein given a command, this has lead to the breed being very independent thinkers. If your looking for a breed of dog that is good at obedience this is not the breed. If your looking for a breed of dog that will be a companion and work with you instead of having to be given commands then you will not find a more loyal and loving partner then a caucasian mountain dog.

Hi Nick!  Will have to check into the board here more often!  Looks like Sobek is growing very well thanks to your fine care.  The standing photo in the field is a favorite!!   ;D  I'll post some photos of his brother Zhak soon.
