Oh, I know, I looked at them and they are very cute. :-*
I was just kidding around. ;D I'm like that. Hard to resist a poo-eating joke oppotunity when you live in my household.

They look like Newfs for the most part, with curlier hair.

These puppies where rescued from somebody deliberately doing this cross by the looks of things. What the heck is this fad for crossing poodles with anything with 4 legs? Is it just some childish wish for stupid people to have a crossbreed with the word poo in the name so they can shock the vicar or their mother in law? Or is it so the breeder can con people into thinking that they won't shed hair everywhere like 99% of dogs tend to do?
AAAARRRRGGGHHH! *rips hair out in frustration*

I agree that these pups are adorable, but I also totally agree with you Senghe. I looked further into the add, this is what it read when I clicked on the individual puppy bio (for Oscar, the male):
His mom was a purebred Leonberger and his dad was a Cream clored Standard Poodle. He will be a big boy like his mom with a hair coat like his poodle dad. He is like a Labradoodle except without the lab and instead a Leonberger, so I guess you could call him either a Leondoodle or a PooBerger. His litter of 5 may be the only ones like this in existence. The breeder who had the parents was breeding Leonbergers but was not having luck finding buyers for them so he decided to cross his Leonberger with a Standard Poodle to see what he got. He sold about half of the litter for $1000 each but then had a couple left . What would have happened to the ones he had left is uncertain, but one thing for sure is they would not have met a happy fate.
Why would a breeder do this??? ???

Just a thought, The usual reason for crossing Poodles is to provide a dog that does not shed hair, a friend of mine has a Labradoodle for that very reason, she's allergic to dog hair, but loves dogs!
I just wonder about a Poodle/newf cross? would it be an end to drooling and major pet hair problems? - it would take the fun out of owning, but it would give my wife, Liz one thing less to nag about!!

At least these guys are in rescue, and the BYB shut down, apparently. Score one for the good guys. Too bad stupidity is not criminally prosecuted.
