Hi,

firstly, sorry i haven't been on in a while, iv'e been busy moving and am finally back down south, nass is as happy as i am to be close to the beach again lol

i have decided that for BPO members only i'm going to reduce the prices of my portraits, this is only for a limited time .

the regular prices are -

Small - 9” x 7” - $70

Medium - 11” x 14” - $120

Large – 19” x 22” - $220

i have reduced them to

Small - 9” x 7” - $50

Medium - 11” x 14” - $90

Large – 19” x 22” - $190

that is in Australian dollars so in American dollars they would be cheaper again.

my website has also been updated and iv'e added new portraits.

please feel free to take a look.

http://www.pastelpetportraits.com.au

i used to advertise at these forums a while ago now, if i'm not allowed to anymore please just let me know  :)

thankyou

I love Farleys wrinkle head and his tail. This is the first dog I have had that has an actual tail. They have all been rottis or schnauzers.

Puck I would have to say his big ol' bowling ball head ;D

awww, they are so cute! and very good photo's, could i maybe use them for portrait practice? not to sell but i'd love to do them because they look so cute lol

i havn't got a photo but if your behind nass sometimes she puts her head down and you can see the sides of her mouth sort of hang down so you can see the inside, it looks so cute and kind of goofy, i'll try to get a photo, i also loe her loose skin under her neck lol

awwww, their both gorgeous! it's so nice to see some more pointer crosses, i'd never even seen a pointer until i saw nass, she was in a pet store and had the biggest ears and paws plus those eyes, i just had to take her home. she was quiet big too because the pet store i go to takes dogs that need homes, strays mostly and some of the pups are a bit older.

she is very smart too, she learned to sit stay and shake the first time i taught her and she will stay for ages, i can even turn around and walk away, she also low and high fives, waves and fetches stuff then brings it back to me sits and drops it at my feet, the best thing is that if she loses something i throw to her most of the time i only have to point in the right direction and tell her to find it and she does  ;D

she has also bonded with me very well and was like a best friend from day one, i spend most of my time with her, during the day she will sit in the kitchen while i cook or lay on the couch with me or if i'm gardening she'll try to help with that...not that she really helps much lol, just makes a mess.

she is a fantastic dog, i especially love how she follows me everywhere and when i sit on the couch or lay on the bed to read she lays near me  :D

who said dogs are mans best friend.....lol

Great photos!  Both your doggies look great! :)

Thanks!

Max isn't mine though, he's such a darling and loves nass to bits, his owner is leaving town soon which is going to be sad, nassa will miss max a lot :(

Max actually belonged to someone else in town before the current owner, the previous owner never spent any time with him and let her bratty kid pull his tail and throw stuff at him, he was so untrained and was a menace, he's fantastic now though and i'm so glad he has a different owner.

Collars, crates, & other cool things / Re: Why confine your dog to a Crate?
« on: November 09, 2005, 08:41:27 pm »
i think crating is an American thing because i don't know anyone who does it, iv'e never done it myself, i have never needed to.

anassa is well trained and can be left either outside or inside by herself, at night she sleeps on a huge pillow at the end of the bed and wakes us up if she needs to do her business. Then in the morning when my husband leaves for work she will hop on the end of the bed and sleep there.

i really don't understand it either and have never had any problems for not crating my dogs but each to their own.

maybe not crating is an Aussie thing lol

What do you do in Australia if you have to leave a puppy inside while you're gone?

i can't speak for everyone but iv'e always left my pups in the laundry room, it's big and there's plenty of room for play, i usually leave toys and some treats too so the pup can keep it's seld occupied, most of the time i'll take my pup with me though, i just can't stand the thought of leaving a pup alone  ;D

most people i know just leave their pup in a room of some sort, either the laundry or a spare room :)

as i said, each to their own, i'm not knocking anyone who uses crates, just personally iv'e never needed to.

thanks!

Thanks!

no she didn't get nipped, i actually thought she would but she was so fast the poor crab didn't have a chance, the crab got nipped a few times though but left the battle unharmed thanks to me lol

plus, it got it's revenge on anassa for ruining it's day by stealing one of her smacko's

it went missing the night after she got the crab and i thought she'd buried it, i found it early the next morning on my walk though lol

i'm not sure if anassa counts because she's half pointer and half wolfhound lol but she looks like a pointer she's just a bit bigger, i don't know the average size of a pointer so i'm not completely sure but she's 70cm tall at ten months.

here's some photo'a of her, she especially loves to point at birds lol and will stand there for ages  :-\

she's on the right obviously, the other dog is max, a lab cross rottweiler, they have been friends since she was a pup.

and one i took a few seconds ago, she's half asleep because i woke her for the photo

i hope you like them :)

Tulsa is German Shepard/Chow/Rotti Mix. 90 lbs,
Very Intelligent, very full of herself.
She is 3 &1/2 years old.
She has mellowed in the last 6 months, will only play with certain 'chosen' ones, and rarely leaves my side when she's off leash.
I am a proud owner of a 'mixed' breed dog.
Long Live BPO!
And thank you for the action shots of your dog.
John

what a lovely mix, i think she looks awesome. i'm a mix breed lover too lol, they certainly have a lot of personality  ;)

wow, strider has a very unique and beautiful colored coat and i see what you mean about size  :D

i'm happy with her height although i won't care if she gets taller, it would be nice if she'd bulk out a little but she is still only pretty young.

i love her heaps either way, she's like a shadow and follows me everywhere. she looks to me very much like a pointer but not as stocky and i'm certain she's taller, iv'e never met a pure pointer so i wouldn't really know.

she does point though, at one of my cats pandy, a tiny little tabby, their good friends though and even bathe each other so i know it's all in fun, she especially likes to point birds and will just stand there for ages, i'm like 'okay nass, we can leave now'  ;D the funny thing is she will also point when max tries to steal her food, she positions herself in the middle of both bowls and everytime her tries to get to one she will face him, point and growl lol

thanks for your help

a few weeks ago my husband and i went camping with nass, while we were there anassa found a ghost crab and decided to play with it, it looked so funny, i just had to take photo's, i hope you like them.

and the crab got it's revenge on anassa for ruining it's day, earlier that day anassa was eating a smacko's chew toy, it went missing and i assumed she'd buried it, the next morning when i went for a walk i found out the truth  ;D

and what the beach looked like when i went for my walk, the place we camped there was no-one around for miles and i always get up really early to go for a nice walk alone, i love the peace and quiet, Jeff and anassa were still snoring away in the tent lol
