Newfoundland Discussions / Funky Walk
« on: June 02, 2007, 09:57:47 pm »
Okay, here's another one from a paranoid Mama.  When Molson is walking away, I notice that his back legs kick out to the sides from his elbow down.  His breeder told me that her dogs are doing that, too.  (they're the same age) She took them to the vet and the doctor took X-rays and said that they're going through a growth spurt and it will go away.  He also looks like he's walking on tiptoe in the back.

Anyone else have that same funky walk?

Actually after all ... maybe I'll just answer yes to all those odd combinations because I'm really not sure what he is now....   ;D

It was interesting and I love reading about the breed.  I know that he's a Newfoundland.  When you get down to it, I don't care really, I just know that I love him.

I've heard that...I'm curious about the statement that they're not as big as the regular newf.  Molson's pretty big.

Newfoundland Discussions / Newfie Live Chat???

Does anyone know where there is a live chat room to brag about our newfies in real time?  I'd be willing to start one if I knew anyone would be interested.

Molson is the same as Sarnewfie.  Only when excited, or food is present or after drinking.

I've got another pic to share...some of you might have already seen it but it's still one of my favorites and you might be able to see the look he gets on his face when he's being a brat.

Aren't dogs awesome?  I was out with friends and all I looked forward to was getting home to Molson.  I cut the night short to come hang out with him.  Some people don't understand that?

Thank you guys so much.  I don't have children, but I feel the pride of a parent every time someone compliments him.  Until he does something rotten.

For example, today I took him to work with me (luckily my manager owns a newf and encourages me to bring him into the office) and he poops on the conference room floor during a conferenc call.  It was on speaker phone so everyone heard the groans from the smell.  Quite embarrassing.. .as everyone knows, it's not a small event.

Has anyone else here heard of the Newfsgonebad calendar?  He should be on the cover of that.

Speaking of retarded, I used to own a chow/wolf mix who was constantly with me in the car.  Unlike Molson, Loki was not so friendly with people.  I can't tell you how many doorknobs would walk up to my car with him snarling and barking inside it and stick their hands in the window to pet him.  What do some people think?

I haven't seen anyone hesitant around Molson yet...I think the wagging butt, the tongue hanging out on the side of his mouth and his crossed eyes take his intimidation factor away.   :)

I like to think so...I gaze at him all the time just amazed at how beautiful he is.  I'm a little partial. ;D
