General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Spoiled pictures.....
« on: April 25, 2007, 08:09:26 am »
Just wanted to share some pictures of Yukon becoming more spoiled than usual.  We are on a mini vacation here in Indiana taking care of my mom, and I could only bring one of my puppers, so I brought Yukers since he is the oldest and most well behaved.  I do think that he is starting to revel in the "only dog" lifestyle though and will be completely rotten when we get back home.

Thank you for the steps for the beer trick...this is now my goal for this summer!  I will be the best wife of our group!!  Hope that you are enjoying being a member of our little club here!

I have thought about the raw diet, mainly to cut down on the gas in our house, but I thought that the cost would get out of control with the large dogs.  Any advice?  I have been told that it is much healthier for the dogs and does wonders for their coats.

Very nice looking, but am I the only one who thinks that the head reminds me of a St Bernard?  Especially the top picture.

Hi Drew,

Welcome to BPO!  I have to agree with everyone in saying it is cool that you found this place!  I am the mom to a rotti, dane and a weim.  If you have any hints on how to accomplish the beer fetching trick for us laymen, I am sure that my hubby, and most of us here, would be forever grateful!  Can't wait to see pictures of your furkids!

Welcom Kat!  This place is super, and you will love it.  It can become very addicting!!  I am mom to Yukon (rottie), Dodge (dane) and Harley (weim).  I also have an 8 year old, but she is not near as much work as the furkids are!!  Post some pics of your babies soon!!!

She is beautiful!  The name is perfect too, she looks like she might be a little firecracker!  More pictures soon!

They turned out to pretty sturdy, but the crew seem to respect them enough not to try anything.  Our biggest problem comes when they try to go thru the door 2 at a time!  Doesn't work too well for the big butts! ::)

I have it spanning a 56 inch area, and that is useing the main section, and two 12 inch extensions.  They come with a 6 and 12 inch extension, but since I didn't need it for the stair, I was able to move them around and make it work.

And yes, that is a "small animal" door.  I have to leave them shut most of the time, other wise Dodge puts his head thru it, and I have had visions of him going into a panic and running around the house with a gate around his neck!  Its neat, but I just let the cat jump over the gates.

Our lives are alot cleaner around here now!!!  Best investment I ever made!!!

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Finally found the gates...
« on: March 25, 2007, 01:55:25 am »
Awhile back I had an issue with finding gates big enough to fit my doorways so that I could keep my crew in the dining room and avoid the torn up mess that results in giving them free reign of the house when I am not home.  I searched high and low, and finally found 1 petsmart in all of the Hampton Roads area that carried them.
Here are some pictures, and thank you all again for the advise that you gave!

Blair, can I borrow Zeus so that he can teach Yukon that swallowing socks leads to upset tummies, and barfed up stinky socks?  That would be super!  I am tired of being on the receiving end of the slimy socks!

GOOD BOY ZEUS!!!
