It's taken a while, but I've finally been able to come back with some pictures of Duke! Of course, he's grown so fast that I'll need to update them very soon. He just loves sleeping in the strangest positions :)

Hi All! I haven't been on here for a while because our new little guy Duke has been taking up all our time lately! Yup, we ended up getting a puppy after all and he's wonderful! I have tons of pictures but can't seem to post them on here because the file size is too large.

He's almost 11 weeks now, and just a joy to have around. He's happy, loving, and chewing on everything in site. I think we'll be starting puppy training classes pretty soon. Thank you all for the words or encouragement earlier and I truly believe we got the puppy we were meant to have.

Our little guy Duke is just shy of 9 weeks and he's much like Maddie and Tucker. He has tons of energy in the morning and then gets laid back later in the day. He does get short bursts of ebergy, but he's so young that he spends much of his time sleeping. He's really been a great puppy so far!

Thanks! I talked to the breeder again and it turns out that the girl we were originally going to get has a heart murmur now. Hopefully everything will be ok with her. I do think that whichever puppy we were meant to have will be the one we get, so I'm not too upset anymore. On Sunday, we should be meeting our little guy ... or girl. We'll see, but we're leaning towards the boy for now. I'll post pictures once I get them.

Well, we just found out yesterday that the breeder decided to keep Sasha for herself because she had the litter evaluated and it turns out that Sasha has the most potential for a show dog. Initially, she was supposed to be a pet because there was a white patch of fur on the back of her neck, but it's starting to fade. Now the breeder wants us to choose from a different girl or a boy.

We are so disappointed because she assured us that Sasha would be sold as a pet because of the patch of fur, and we started getting attached to her already. But I guess we'll have whatever puppy we're meant to have. Initally, my husband wanted a boy, so maybe it's for the best. We'll find out Sunday if we want to choose a different puppy or not. I think we're just getting over our disappointment right now.

Thanks for all the good wishes!

Hi, I'm new to the board myself so I'm no expert. But I've done a ton of research in preparation for our Berner puppy who will be home this weekend, and we've decided to feed a raw, natural diet. It seems to alleviate all of the symptoms you mentioned and I'm hoping it will work out well for our Sasha. We've also gotten some sample packs of Flint River Ranch food. They have a couple varieties for allergies so you may want to check them out. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I am a picture taking maniac, so you'll definitely be seeing more to come! I'm just counting down the days until she's home. My husband works from home, so she'll have "daddy" home all day long. And since I work close by, I'll be there for lunch every day!

Hi everyone! I posted on the General Board, but also wanted to post here and introduce myself. My husband and I are getting our Berner puppy next weekend, and we're so excited! If any of you have words of wisdom on preparing for a Berner, or just tips you've learned over time, feel free to let me know.

This is Sasha, and she's probably going to be a big girl because she was just 6 weeks old in the photo! I look forward to getting to know all of you and your pups.

Hi everyone! I've been reading these boards for a few weeks, and you all have been so helpful as we prepare for our Bernese puppy. We will be getting her home next weekend, so I wanted to come say hi and post a picture of her. This is Sasha, and she was just 6 weeks old in the photo. I'm sure there will be many more pictures to come in the next few weeks!

If you have any words of wisdom as we get our house ready and finish buying everything she needs, feel free to let me know!
