General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Ozzie is a Maremma
« on: April 03, 2006, 05:17:16 pm »
Yesterday at the Bandix Dog Park in Olalla, y'all know where that is of course, one of the members suggested that Ozzie maybe a Maremma (pronouced Mare-emma).
After reading several detailed discriptions and sending an email with several good photos of Ozzie the secertary of the Maremma Dog Club of American replied "Yup." so Ozzie is really a Maremma.
If you recall when he was on Angie's rescue website the Pyr and Kuvaz people could not figure out for sure if he was a Pyr or a Kuvaz. Truns out he is a Maremma.
The Kuv and Pyr both are part of his lineage and this is why they were confused. He is of course a LGD an used for sheep.

Leonberger Pictures / Rajahis Healthly
« on: March 29, 2006, 01:38:13 am »
I have the pleasure of sharing that Rajah is getting healthy again.
She had an infection that ate up part of her inside toe and that was removed back to the second knuckle. I am happy to report that she is bossy, overbearing, intense and has began to play again. which includes attacking me just because she can.
In other words she is almost normal.

Rottweiler Discussions / Scared for my rottie
« on: January 10, 2006, 02:20:33 am »
Rajah, that is her in the avatar, is  having bowel and kindey issues. She is almost 10 1/2 y/o and has except for some minor stiffness been in great health. Over the last 2 weeks she has began to have more and more issues with large stools dropped without any indication of needing to go potty and huge amounts of pee again with no warning. The stools go from solid to soft and the pee is bright yellow and stinks.
We will have her in the vets this weekend to be checked out and I am scared that she is going downhill very fast.
My pointer have  roughly the same problem for almost a year before he left us in 1997 after 14 years. But this is like 10 times worst the Toby ever was.
I have in the last 15 moths sent to of my babies to the rainbow bridge, Bear and Phoebe, and don't want to go throught that again,
She is my love and my friend, Almost evey night she has been on my bed or at the foor of it. i am scared of losing her and while I am playing Mr Calm and Collected for my wife my guts are being torn apart.
Please pray for a healing of Rajah i need her for a couple of more years.
Thanks for neing there to listen to my venting.

Remembering those no longer with us. / Phoebe has graduated.
« on: November 19, 2005, 04:03:35 am »
Goodbye Baby
Today we took Phoebe, age one year,  to the vet to put her to sleep. My wife found a new term for doing this. Iinstead of putting the dog down she graduated, because as my wife put it, Phoebe is doing to heaven so she is not going down therefor she graduated and is moving up ( to heaven).
My baby was loving, kind and loved by all who met her and it is my wisg to share this humble peom with you in her memory.

I feel the warmth of you sweet lithe body, the strength of your heart beating as you rest in my lap.
Slowly my hand caresses you silky smooth softness as the lights reflect off your bright shining blackness. The gleam of your eyes shining as you look deep past my eyes into my soul and see the love for you that lives in my heart.
Even pain and suffering does not still your desire to fill my lap with your warmth as you let your stillness show your contentment and happiness when we are together.
Bond by the ties of love many will never know or ever fathom our love will always be forever.
As others speak in memories of you and they see me smile I am counting my blessings of having known you, my sweet darling Phoebe, for even this short while.
I love you baby
