Rottweiler Discussions / Need advice- a new companion for Sasha!---
« on: August 29, 2007, 07:33:12 pm »
Hi!
It's been a long since I haven't posted anything or read bpo website...my life totally changed this year.
First I got separated and I am going thru a divorce. I do not feel bad becuase of that but I know Sasha felt bad for the first couple of months...now she is a little bit more happy about it.. Also we don't live in the house anymore becuase I have it for sale due to the divorce and we moved twice already but I am stable now...I'm renting a friend's house and Sasha has been more active and playful (of course...now she has pently of space to run and play..in a 1 acre land) BUT I know she misses Gordo..the male..My ex took both Sasha and Gordo for a couple of weeks just for the purpose of hurting me but after being separated, thanks God he gave me back Sasha...but Gordo is gone!  :'( I found out he put it to sleep! I couldn't believe it at first but now I know I married the devil...  >:(
Well, now in this new life I have just started (already many months ago)..just me and Sasha, I know she is still missing Gordo a lot...but I am afraid of having another dog again, not only because of the maintenance because I cannot spend too much money now, but also because I don't know how she's going to react since all my attention goes to her and she's been my angel, my friend, my support all this time...
Does anybody know which breed I should get? Do I get another rottie? or a smaller breed? Please, I need your advice and suggestions... Also..what's is the best way for me and her to approach the addition of another dog in the house? I'm open to suggestions! Thank you all!

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Waiting for Wilma...
« on: October 23, 2005, 04:19:50 am »
I'm kind of bored...I've been watching tv for at least 4 hours...monito ring Wilma...
We should start feeling its winds by early tonight or maybe at midnight...
Sasha and Gordo spent most of the time outside...smel ling at the wind (I don't really understand what they're smelling at) and it blows a little more intense..
Anyway, my husband keeps saying we will not feel anything at all  >:(...despite all the warnings they are talking about now...
I've just taken a couple of pics while now Sasha and Gordo are back inside and ready to take a nap..
Let's see what happens...  ???

Helpful Groups & Dogs in Need / Female rottweiler found needs a home!
« on: October 18, 2005, 10:58:51 am »

Hello Everybody.
Hopefully someone can help me find a home for this gorgeous female rottie I found some days ago.
It seems she's been lost for a few days. I found her with no tags and no chip. I walked around the neighborhood without any luck... :(
Unfortunately, I'm not able to keep her at home (I've already rescued a male in June and I can't have more than 2 dogs where I live ) so I wish If someone might be interested in finding a lovely home for such a lovely dog.
It seems she's about 2 years old and she  has a few scratches around her neck because I found her with an additional chain so she must have been tied up in a backyard all the time. She's in a desperate need for love and care. She even follows some commands and she's playful too...
I'm taking her to the vet during this week for a check up and vaccines.
I'm including 2 pics I took yesterday night. We can drive up to 100 miles from Miami, FL if you are willing to keep her. Any other advice is more than welcome!!!!.

Rottweiler Pictures / Resting while Katrina goes away ...
« on: September 20, 2005, 02:33:46 pm »
It's been a long time since I do not post picts. First we had hurricane Katrina here in Miami (nothing compared with what happened in the Gulf) and today I've been the whole day at home since also we suffered the efects from Rita.
During Katrina, Sasha was really scared (it was her first experience with hurricanes) but Gordo was quite rest and peacefull.
Here they are resting on the floor, without AC since power was off for many days...and very...very bored...

This is Sasha after crewing my husband's shoes again! ....
It takes only a second after you pronounce the "magic word" "shoe" and her face suddenly changes from cute  :P to " ... oh oh...I think mommy found out already..."  :-[
Amazinly she gets stuck in one spot and she does not move again until you call her .. then she knows that everything is ok again...

Rottweiler Discussions / I need some advice with allergies!
« on: July 06, 2005, 01:27:06 pm »

Hi! My name is Lorena and I'm new at this forum.
I wish someone can give some advice with allergies.
Sasha is one year old and a couple of months ago she started scratching all the time around her neck area. I discovered a couple of hot spots but also I think mosquitos bites are the cause.Since I live in Florida, humid weather, hives, pollen and God knows what else, can cause a lot of allergies to anybody, specially seasonal allergies, but mosquitos now in this rainy season are realy bad. I took her to the vet and she got an allergy shot and the vet gave me some pills with an antihistamine so I can give them to her when she gets uncomfortable again. She was fine until now but she started sniffing and scratching again a couple of days ago. She spends a lot of time indoor but now in summer we spend a lot of time outside in the pool or playing in the yard.
The vet told me that Rotties are very allergic, specially in Florida which a great variety of plants, flys, etc. I'm allergic and I know when mosquittos are killing me, they are bitting her too. The same with grass or some palm trees. What should I do? By vet told some time I should take her to a specialist to find out the reason of her allergies. I always keep an eye on where she lays or what she eats, etc but I know for sure it's something outdoors.
I'd appreciate any advice or recommendation you can give me
Thanks!
Lorena
