Anything Non-Dog Related / Glad February is over
« on: March 16, 2007, 01:10:11 pm »
I am so glad last month is over. My son Tyler was competing at a wrestling tournament Feb 11 and was hurt. He tore the ligament/cartlidge that connects the shoulder to the collar bone, that was the least serious of injuries. The large bone that (humorus) goes into the shoulder he snapped the head off the bone. Needless to say he had emergence surgery and had two pins placed in his shoulder. On Feb 25 my husband had a heart attack. Randy was flown to Springfield and had a stint placed in the right coronary, this coming Monday he will have one placed on the left side. What else can happen???? :(

Groans, Gripes, Brags & Boasts / Tyler got 4th at Sectionals
« on: March 06, 2006, 08:25:25 pm »
Well my son Tyler got 4th at his wrestling sectionals this weekend. there were 38 teams at the sectional meet. Tyler wrestled 5 matches total on Saturday. Ty won the first 2 matches and lost the 3rd by 2 point. He then had what they call wrestle backs which means he had 2 more chances to move on to the State tournament. He won the 4th match but lost his 5th and final match by 1 point. the score was 2-1. We are very proud of his accomplishment since this was his first year wrestling and only 13 kids out of 28 made it to the sectionals from his team, also only 5 kids out of the 13 received 4th place and above.  ;)

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / We're Back from Peoria
« on: January 15, 2006, 09:39:21 am »
Well we're back. It was a very interesting weekend needless to say. After driving 2 1/2 hours north and finally finding the weigh in site and hotel. My husband is from down here and not from the Chicago area like I was before moving down here to Bugtussle or BFE like I call where we live :D. He is not use to driving in traffic or as I foundly call "The Big city"sitting calmly and watching him weave is way in /out of traffic was nail biting experience. Anyway we did make it with out wreakin the car.  Tyler took everything in stride since nothing phases him and would just roll his eyes at dad.  After checking in to the hotel it was discovered that Ty needed tape or covers for his shoe laces so off to the mall we go. Now to me this is no big deal but it was an eye opening experience for Randy and TY. At a sports store we walked in and was greated by a kid that had multi colored hair and the first words out of his mouth was "Where ya all from" :o? We asked for the coverings no luck so walked the mall. After seeing gangs members stationed outside of stores I told Randy it was time to go. He then kept telling Tyler to stay close. (LOL). Finally found tape that would work and went to the hotel. The next morning Randy got us up before day break to head for the convention center. I'm talking kids everywhere. Tyler was in a bracket of 16 kids and took 6th, which was great I think. He met tons of kids and really enjoyed himself. Anyway the weekend was fun even though it was kinda like the hillbillies going to the big city. :D

O f course they are age groups from7-14 and different weight groups, but 1900 kids is a huge tournament. So cross your fingers for my 123 LB 11 year olod baby :o. Will try to post some pics late Sunday or Monday
