Great Pyrenees Discussions / Dog Food
« on: August 18, 2008, 10:19:34 am »
Hi All,
Yeah, it's been a long time since I been on here.  I have neglected Dyson with poor quality food for too long now ???.  I read some other post, and it seems the majority of you all use Innova EVO, is that true.  My local Petsmart & Petco don't carry it, do any of you all recommend a good brand from them or should I find a place that sales Innova?

Great Pyrenees Discussions / Barking Collar
« on: January 25, 2007, 01:22:25 pm »
Well, my neighbors are beyond being patient with Dyson's barking.  He barks all night long.  Have anyone had any luck with the Safe Humane Barking Collars that emit High Frequency noise to stop barking for Pyr's?  I'd rather go that route than buying a shocking Bark collar, for I know he is only doing what his ancestor's passed to him.

Great Pyrenees Discussions / Question on Baby Teeth
« on: May 27, 2006, 04:18:55 pm »
Dyson is a year old now and still has his two upper fang baby teeth.  His brothers and sisters lost theirs long time ago.  Has anyone else seen this on a 1 year old?  They are very well alive (meaning white and very attached).  I am planning on taking him to the vet to get them pulled, but just had to ask.

Great Pyrenees Discussions / When to take Pyr off of Puppy Food???
« on: January 08, 2006, 09:57:31 am »
Hi All,
It's been a while.  Asking for a majority opinion.  When shoud Pyr's be taken off of puppy food.  Dyson is a week shy of being 8 months old and weighs 80 lbs.  Is it time to take him off of Pro Plan puppy food?  I was thinking about starting him on Nutro, but haven't made up my mind yet (suggestions?).  I will be posting new pictures soon, for he has loss his puppy fluff and looks like a big macho male Pyrenees now.

Thanks,
Randy

Great Pyrenees Discussions / Terrible Teens
« on: December 24, 2005, 01:30:10 pm »
Well, Dyson is 7 month's old now and I guess he is going through his terrible teens.  We leave him down stairs at night and he chew's up everything..  Trash from knocked over trash cans and anything lefted on our end table.  Is that normal for 7 month old Pyrenees?  His Mother just had another litter of 6 (3M and 3F) and I was thinking about getting him another companion, but I am worried that it may be too much.  I know I should crate him, but I rather clean up ripped up trash than having to clean out his Crate Poop every morning.

Dyson got Fixed yesterday.  What suprised me is the Vet's office did not give any pain medication for him.  Is that normal?  They told us we could buy Aspirin and give him 1 tablet twice a day.  I was curious, for I know I would want something for the pain.

Thanks, Randy    :(

I have one more question?  Has anyone had JPS performed to their Great Pyr.  I guess I'm asking should it be done or not.  My friend's Vet is recommending this be done to prevent future hip dysplasia for his Puppy Pyr?
Thanks to all for the recommendation s on the DEW Claw Removal question.

Link to review the procedure: http://www.nwk9.com/jps.htm
