Saint Bernard Pictures / New Puppies
« on: October 16, 2007, 08:59:09 pm »
I wanted to get everyone's opinions on some 3.75 week old puppies.  The puppies weren't wanting to cooperate, but you get the basic idea.

Puppy 1-male

Puppy 2-female

Puppy 3-male

Puppy 4-female

Puppy 5-male

Puppy 6-male

I personally am torn between Puppies 1, 2, and 4 right now.  I can't wait to evaluate them again in two weeks, and finally at 8-9 weeks.

Saint Bernard Pictures / New Abby Pics!!! Yesh..
« on: May 15, 2007, 07:50:51 am »
I haven't been on BPO recently, so I thought I would update with some pictures.  We recently purchased Abby's cousins/niece and nephew, so pictures of them will be included also.

Abby-

The "Tweedles"

Courage-

Sweetpea-

All of our dogs are exclusively handled by me, except my sister's boy she also uses for Juniors, and the occasional chance that two of the dogs end up needing to go in at the same time, in which my mom grabs a lead and runs in the ring.... heh.. the last time she remembered to get the armband on, but forgot the dog.

Anyways, Abby's point status is a total of 8 points with a 3pt major.  We are searching for that second major so I can single her out.  She is just 17 months old, so its really an amazing feat being shown limitedly.

My mom and I decided we want to breed my retired show bitch, but finding just the right stud is hard.  She is lacking in a lot of areas for a Saint.  I would like to breed her to a stud out of some of the best lines, that I know has produced what I am looking for in this litter, but my mom has chosen a stud that I don't agree with completely.  We know his mother is out of one of the top breeding kennels, and somehow disappeared after a few shows.  I am looking for reasons to tell my mom not to use this stud, but she is too afraid to ask any of the breeders of the studs I choose that have all health and temperment certifications, as well as match my girl conformation wise.  Her breeding will take place her next heat in about 5 months.

Here are some pictures.

My girl before and after her recent heat.

She always gets thin right before going into heat.

She gains that weight back during her heat.

The boy my mom chose.  He is gorgeous, but not what I would choose for her.

Yes, I am the one holding his lead in those pictures.  He was sent to me to be trained, and for my sister to possibly show in Juniors if she ever decides to actually show, as well as to be bred unless I can convince my mom otherwise.  I will post links to pictures of his mother's parents once I get a chance.

Newfoundland Pictures / Stacked/Working Pictures of Riptide
« on: July 27, 2006, 04:17:31 pm »
I have posted about this boy previously on the grooming board to ask for help with his coat, well now that his coat is in good enough shape to at least show him off to the public, I decided to show everyone some pictures.  I took him out in the yard and stacked him and and was just putting the weight pull harness on him to get him ready for his training, when he decided to lay down.  Sad to say, it was too hot to allow him to pull anyways, so after I got these lovely shots, I took the harness off and let him cool off.

If these pictures don't turn out right, then I will try to repost them.

Saint Bernard Pictures / I just have to share... Abby!
« on: June 19, 2006, 08:57:55 pm »
My baby.  She is just 6 1/2 months old and has her first show on either July 8th or July 9th.  I will only be showing her in Juniors for a few months because she is awful houndy right now, but once she starts coming into herself, she will be a force to be reckoned with in the show ring.

I have my male Newfoundland whose skin is nice, but his coat is awful dry to the sight and touch.  How can I fix this so that I can show him.  Also, I could use some help learning how the coat is supposed to lay for show.  His tends to stand on end right now, but I'm sure once the dryness is fixed, it should lay nicely.  Thanks in advance.

Meet & Greet BPOers / Anyone going to shows in the PA/MD area?
« on: June 18, 2006, 10:50:48 pm »
I have a few shows coming up and I am more than happy to meet up with people who are interested in teaching me more about different breeds.  I will have a young Saint Bernard pup, and my mom will have a huge Saint Bernard pup.  We will be at the Howard County Fairgrounds in MD one day July 6-9, York(unknown date), and a few others before the ones in Harrisburg, PA in August.  We will then be at a few between Harrisburg and the one in Gettysburg, PA in December.  I'm especially interested in learning more about Newfs and Danes because I am planning on handling those two breeds as well as my Saints.
