Anything Non-Dog Related / NDR: Going home for a wedding.
« on: October 28, 2008, 05:25:07 am »
Hello everyone!!!  I know many of you don't know me that well and im kind of touch and go but since moving to Seattle this is one of the only pieces of home and family i could take with me.  After find out we were pregnant with our first child i needed a place to go, and you were it!!

Now that the back story is exposed (obviously hormonal ;)) I just wanted to say that i may not be around for the next few weeks.  Im heading back to Utah for my best friends wedding and to see all the families.  I know my step mom is going to kill me, she cant believe that im going to have her first grandchild away from her!!!  LOL!! Anywho...thank you all for being there for me even if you didnt know it.  I have tried to be around more and hopefully i still can.

Thank you :)

I took this pic the other day, I just thought it was too funny!!! Not only was he using a pillow (he's getting soooo spoiled ;)) but he's got the total face smear that babies get when they are sleeping so deep  :D :D  You can't tell by the pic but randomly he would start snoring (exactly like my husband) then would start wagging his tail!!!  :D :D :D  Never heard him snore before ;)

OMG!!! If there are any other Scorpios out there, you probably understand, this is just how it is for us...all or nothing .)  Anywho, i was just seeing if there were any locals out here that know any good "pee" spots or just wanted to play.  Thank you all!!!

Rasputin helping pack the only way he knows how ;)

Great Pyrenees Discussions / Moving!!!
« on: August 14, 2008, 03:56:53 pm »
Ok, so i know that i kind of come and go through BPO but it will always be my home.  Which is a good thing because my home for the last 10 years or so is changing.  My husband and i are moving to Seattle.  We currently live in Salt Lake City where dogs are tolerated pretty well and there is room for such a GREAT dog.  Seattle...well we will be living in a loft downtown...I really hope it is enough for my boy.  Ive lived in my car in my childhood...im not worried for myself, but my boy?!  He doesnt have a choice in the move and is an innocent bystandard in all this.  So, in short, the next month or so is going to be alittle insane so if im not around there is a good reason.  Thank you everyone, hope to be back soon!

Great Pyrenees Discussions / Valis is sick...
« on: February 06, 2008, 10:24:12 pm »
The newest member of our family, Valis- a husky wolf hybrid, has hip displaysia.  Hes not even 2 months old!!!!  I contacted the breeders and they are willing to take him back or trade him out but im so sad!!!  :-[  :'(  Normally i would keep him and give him the best life he could have but we have hard wood floors and i have a Pyr that loves to play.  Neither of those are good for a puppy with degenerative hips...I dont know what to do. We have only had him for 6 days but im very attached but i dont feel as though i could give him a longer life, the one that he deserves.  Am i just making excuses?  Am i heartless?  Should i just move into a better house for the young one?  I am so sad...  :'(

So he finally made a decision, a husky  :-X  Ive had one before and im trying not to be biased but uh oh! Hes a cute little man, 2 months old and about 13 lbs.  He thinks that Rasputin, my pyr, is his mommy but Rasputin is having none of that!!! Even though the baby is a twentyith his size he has gone submissive for him a few times  :D  Hes peeing every 20-30 min but not letting me know when he needs too.  Right on the hard wood!!! Thats really strange for me.  Every puppy i have ever had hates going on solid floor, they prefer the carpet  :P  He doesnt even stop and whine, he just stops what hes doing and pees then continues on.  Any ideas?!

Great Pyrenees Discussions / New Dog
« on: January 31, 2008, 06:25:41 pm »
I've always wanted an irish wolfhound and my husband has always wanted a side kick dog, aka the mad max dog.  Australian cattle dogs are typically pretty active and may be a bit much but i went down to the pound today and found a dog that is a mix of both!!!! a god sent i think, but what do you think?  How would my Pyr do?

Thanks
Susan.

Help!!!  My 2 1/2 year old 110 lb Pyr will not stay in his area!!!!  Its tough, he is so docile and good when we are around but the second we leave he is trying to bust out the gates, until the point where he is breaking stuff, or even worse, hurting himself.  We tried crate training him but we would come back and he would  be covered in blood from pushing on the doors of the crate so hard.  Its been months and the scars are just starting to heal.  I tried for ever to crate train him but he only gets abusive when we are gone.  I may be a sucker but there is nothing worse than coming home to a hurt family member.  So we put gates up in the house and they last for awhile, until he knocks them down once then he doesnt ever stop trying after that, like i said, even after he hurts himself he just doesnt stop...help!!!!
