Been a long time since I have visited the Big Paws board. I see we have better GSD representation now than when I was more active awhile back. Thats a good thing!! I will be going back to read posts and look at pics to try to catch up. Hope everyone is haveing a great day.

Oh, BTW, for those of you who haven't seen the fur kids, I attached a couple pictures of them I took a couple days ago. Baron is just done blowing coat so he is hairless,  :)

Just thought I would drop into the forum and check whats been happening. Seems like the GSD section is awfully quiet. On a personal note, we have a Vet app't next week at Michigan State University, College of Veterinary Medicine to have our "Elle" OFA'd by Dr. Mostosky who is one of the premier Canine Radiologists in the U.S. We were very lucky to get in to see him. We will be breeding our Baron and Elle on her next heat cycle we hope.

Hope all my fellow GSD owners and lovers are doing well. And lets get some  more activity going on the site. Pictures, Brags, problems, questions, funny stories .... EVERYONE HAVE A GREAT DAY!!  ;D

Sunday morning 10/16/05, 7:58am, 49 degrees, overcast, high of 54 today - we are about 10 miles south of Detroit Michigan, almost on Lake Erie. The cool weather feels good after such a hot and dry summer we had ....

If you follow this link it will take you to some pictures of Baron that were taken last month at the German Shepherd Dog Club of Canada National Specialty show. The Judge was Robert Kish who owns Kismets Sight for Sore Eyes (Dallas) Baron didn't show all that well but we had a ball for 3 days, seeing some old fiends, meeting some new friends and partying a little to much. Hope y'all like the pictures ....

monochids and crpytorchids are genetic ... anyone who breeds one should shot!!! ... it's these types of irresponsible back yard "breeders" who are putting unhealthy, unsound dogs out there to the un-informed public .... it just sickens me to read about some idiots who are even thinking of breeding an un-healthy dog .... we have enough health problems in our breed without KNOWINGLY causing more .... people continually amaze me with how stupid and idiotic they can be ...

Boy, thats a tough one. Both of mine bark when someone approachs our house or our property, but do not bark at all when away from it .... I think a lot has to do with their natural protective instinct ... sounds as if your little girl has taken ownership of her territory ..... the problem being you have to teach her to stop when you say "Stop" ... and yet you don't want her to not warn you of approaching people ... I like my live in alarm system ... what I do is let them bark until I see who it is .. then I use the word "QUIT" ... but then I have been doing that since they were puppies, and it took them a while to "get it" ... just make sure that your girl knows YOU are the ALPHA and what you say goes .... I am sure there are people on here that can help you better than I, since my dogs are brats most of the time and I have very little control over them ...  ;D ... good luck with your girl!!!

We recieved our "official" Champion certificate from the Canadian Kennel Club recently verifying that our Elle is now Can Ch. ShadowValleys Nora B of OurHouse .... I just love this girl!! Here is her new champion picture taken with her handler Kathy Lake in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada

She was shown in 8 shows in Canada. She was Best of Breed 4 times, Best Opposite Sex 3 times, had a Group 2 and three Group 4 placings .... and the best part is she has a temperament to die for and is the best pet.
