We're currently on chicken soup and it's working well and is very inexpensive.  Sometimes you can find Canidae reasonably priced as well.  Good luck-

Alyx has every Junie B. Jones book ever written.  Those are always favorites around here.

She's read Because of Winn Dixie, The Secret Garden, Black Beauty, Little Women, many books in the Pony Pals series, and she is currently working on the American Girls Felicity series.

It sounds like you daughter might like a book we finished this Spring.  The Miraculous Journey of Edward Toulane is by the same author who wrote Winn Dixie and Tale of Despereaux, and we read it aloud together.  The pictures are beautiful, and the story is fantastic.

I have that on my shelf in the next room and haven't picked it up yet.  I'll have to get it out.  I'm in the middle of four others, so it will probably be a couple of days.  I just started Caesar's Antlers, by Brooks Hansen.  I loved The Chessman in college, but that's not a recommendation because I never found anyone else who liked it.

I finally got some pics from a  disposable camera and had Eckerd's put them on a CD.

I don't know how I could forget, Love that Dog, by Sharon Creech.  Every dog lover should read this.  It will take you about 20 minutes.

They're gorgeous!  How old are they?  Angus is still just a pup, right?

Congratulation s!  I also just acquired a second dog, he's currently 10 1/2 week old.  His name is Wyatt Earp and he is a WPG.  My old boy is a Treeing Walker Coonhound named Jasper.  I'd like to see your pups, but I can't access your pic.  It says access fordidden.

Don't be too hard on Rocco.  And remember to clarify to the future questioner that Rocco bit another dog in an unsupervised playfight where four dogs were involved.  That's much different from him lunging unprovoked at a human.  I wouldn't beat yourself up about it, either.
