;DProud Momma too.Â I own 2 presas, Mosamo(fawn) & baby Grissum(brindle).Â Mos(will be 3yrs in Aug) does NOT fit the breed standard.Â he's very small...all of 71lbs.,has the temperment of a collie. he never barks @ strangers(he's never shown any signs of aggression-i wouldn't depend on him in a sticky situation), is great w/ other dogs(goes to daycare)not typical at all.
Now my g-man is everything a presa should be, he is still a pup yet(will be 1yr & 6mon. =22nd)he is maturing very nicely.Â he loves all people, craves attention, is gentle w/ children.Â in his home, he is very serious!!!!!!!!!Â he welcomes those who i welcome...w/ licks ect...but if u shouldn't be here he will let u know it!!! as on the streets as well, he has shown me already that NO-ONE will ever hurt his mom!!!!!!Â although he's grown up @ daycare he has become very dog aggressive w/ males(unaltered-some altered) so he's been exiled from daycare

Â he reminds me of scooby doo but w/ a serious side. u must show them who is the alpha!!!!Â "steel fist-velvet glove" owner a must.Â w/ proper socialization & training they make an amazing companion/gaurdian...i will never be w/out one, or 2

...Never 2 males again!!!!

another PROUD MOMMA!!!!!!!! hey bordeauxmomma, my enya is also from Park Ave. she's out of Peewee x Rembrandt.Â I purchashed her from a couple in nj, who couldn't keep her(lucky for me!!!) i got her when she was 11wks old but e-maile joan to give up-dates

she is me baby girl, i wouldn't trade her for all the men in alaska..

i owned a rotti from 9wks till she passed a yr ago just a few days shy of her 11th b-day. there will never be another, she was amazing!!! now i have 1 dogue de bordeaux & 2 presa canarios. i would say look into the dogue, they are a fantastic breed!!!!! they just adore children & are very loyal to their family but welcome visitors. as long as they are socialized they should be good w/ other animals as well(mine got to daycare). I would recommend a presa because they just adore children as well & are great natural gaurders but they are not for everyone!!!! for this breed an owner must be alpha..."steel fist, velvet glove"motto here! they must be well socialized(human/dog) but are by nature dog aggressive. i will never be w/out either of these breeds. all mine are great w/ family(i live alone)& depending on the stranger's reason for being in their home are for the most part ok(strange friend ect.ok, cable man, ect...no way.LOL) just my opinion:-)

but whatever u choose, do it wisely & best of luck

...i'll never be w/ out 1!!!!
they are an awesome breed to own.Â my enya is such the DIVA! she loves me to death, children as well but doesn't lend herself to strangers at all(very aloof-as is the breed).Â she has a great sence of humor & always gets what she wants!Â she is the queen b around here & keeps her brothers in check! good luck in ur search, when the time comes:-)
