Treatment & Preventative Meds / Re: Frontline Plus...NOT WORKING
« on: May 22, 2007, 08:32:27 pm »
We had a bad flea problem at our other house and the best thing we did was treat the yard with Nematods.  They are microscopic organisms that will eat Larvae.  I have never used anything better plus they are all natural and no adverse effects.  We have a place in Jacksonville that sells it but you can search for it online and they can mail it to you.

I'm not expert, but with all the sodium etc in sandwich meat I would say that it isn't healthy!  Maybe you could try the raw diet if he won't eat kibble...

That's so awesome and the book support the humane society too!!

Good Luck talking to the parents AmyLynn!  I hope they realize that he is doing wrong.  When you talk to them, use the trick of saying I feel... instead of Your kid...  A lot of times this will help with people getting so defensive!

Stephanie, the pictures are adorable!!  I love seeing them sleep together how cute!  Axle is awesome, I didn't know there was a giant Akita!!  ;D Do you remember how much Axle weighed at 4 months?  I mop daily so my kitchen floor has never been cleaner....... but I think I'll check out your bowl suggestions anyway!!  Thanks

Nicole, I checked out some pics of Newfie puppies on the web and man Hiro's markings look just like the Lanseer, plus the ears - interesting!

He doesn't drool (yet anyway) and he basically puts his to front paws in whatever dish and runs in the water so it flies everywhere.  He also jumped in my Koi pond the first day we brought him home before he was 3 months old - sounds like another flag!!

Thanks everyone!  I can't wait to see what he looks like when he grows up!

Sounds like almost everyone has several dogs/cats that seem to get along great in the house!  I have to admit Stephanie, that I was a little worried about how big Hiro might be compared to Jake - I feel better now after hearing about your little one....

Does anyone have the problem with their dogs "swimming" in there water dish?  Hiro does this almost everytime he drinks and water is EVERYWHERE.... ..we've tried different dishes but he still does it.....any ideas?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

I have some more pictures that DH took today.

We don't know what Hiro is mixed with, but the vet said to expect a large dog!!  That will be a huge change for us since Jake, our Rat Terrier is only 17 pounds.....Hir o is as big as him now!

He is a doll though and potty training well very sweet and loves tummy rubs!

Hopefully the images worked......

Hi Everyone!  Hiro is an Akita mix, but so far he is all Akita!!  The picture in my signature is from about a month ago when he was only weighing in at 5 pounds!  He will be 4 months old on the 18th, is 11 pounds and growing at the rate of a St. Bernard according to the vet! Dr.Pat said that he is doing great though!  I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing pictures of your babies!

I'll try to post a newer picture this weekend.
