I'll second the water bottles and yelping when he does it. There's a very funny picture in one of the Volhard's books of a AmStaff puppy nipping its owner as a puppy, and the owner is smiling, and the one below it shows the now adult dog doing the same thing.

Another thing is to give him something else to chew on, and praise him when he does it. Puppies are usually easy to redirect.

I know the person who took the pictures, because I belong to a Neo board and they posted them there. The last picture is posed, although that doesn't make it any less cute.

I would link to his profile on the Illinois Doberman Rescue site, but it is down now. He's my favorite on there. I'd take him home if I could, but right now where I live doesn't allow pets. He is a five year old fawn Doberboy, and he is, as you can see, one of the cutest ones alive, in my opinon. (I'm obviously not fostering him, but I do write his foster mom on occasion.)
