at peto they sell like a lifthing thing, you put it around the dogs hips sorta like a harness and you can help her up and down and help her walk, it ease the pain,

im very sorry to hear that this is happening,

i think will because... HE STILL BARKS, and the volume of his bark seems to be growing with his body, im sure hes doing it basically when he wants to play, and i tryed ignoring it, i tryed saying "NO" and distracting him, no luch, i tryed a squirt bottle.. nothing, infact that makes him bark more, (he LOVES water) lol

if there is some thing stuck in her paw (like way down in there ) it might be very hard to see and she would deff. refuse to walk on it, untill the thorn or what ever is removed (we took a trip to arizona once, and there are these weird cactus plants EVERY WHERE and my dog gon a very tiny very pointy thorn stuck between his toes, i had to carry him) so yeah, but i dunno, the best bet would be to see your vet

thanks, im actually thinking about training him for a tiral, i was watching dogs 101 on animal planet and it was about newfs and water trials and its pretty much what he does already so i figured why not see if hes better than other dogs at it? lol

i need to order the rule book and stuff from akc, but hes going back to the beach today (3rd time this week)

does any one know if i should stop taking him when it gets cold? i know there from canada and they still go in the water there when its freezing, but i dont want my boy getting sick, he doesnt seem to mind the temp, but it worrys me,

???

Newfoundland Pictures / rota is the best swimmer EVER!!!
« on: November 04, 2009, 04:32:47 pm »
so i took rota for his first off leash experience at a doggy beach with my friend (whose dog loves water and showed him the way) he has never really been intrested in retreiving before, if i threw a toy he might trot along to it and ehh wonder past it and not really bring it back even if he did happen to pick it up dispite my encouragement LOL

well, ADD SOME OCEAN AND ITS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT DOG!!!!!

i couldnt get him to stop, there was a point where i didnt want the stick any more... but he just KEPT BRINGING IT BACK so that i would throw it out in to the water again

hes amazing, and this isnt some little lake or a river, this is an ocean with waves and its freezing cold and he LOVES it!!!

there was a point there the stick went under the water due to a wave, and i dont know what happened i must have blinked, because ROTA WAS GONE!!!! and i was like OMG MY DOG!! i was already in the water i would have dove in after him i sware he was drownding! but he poped up in the opposite direction (he had to have turned under water) faceing me (he was swimming back) WITH THE STICK IN HIS MOUTH, he wasnt coughing or any thing, so he couldnt have injested water, he held his breath?? i mean he was in deep water i couldnt have touched...

any who

(the other one is my friends dog who loves water)

and here is a short video of him,

oh no, i really hope you can find a home for her check petfinder.com look for a breed specific rescue and they will pay all vet bills before taking her in, please look in to it because they will also ensure that she will go to the proper home with a person who can handle her

if your in la, you will be able to find a rescue for her just google the mastif rescue there should be one in your area

i use to live in LA and the los angelse animal shelter has the highest kill rate of any animal shelter in the united states its a pretty nasty place ive been there a few times most of the dogs are sick and all packed together and most of them are put down, just gettin her out of there has saved her life

good luck

hi, i have a newfie, and last weekend i took him to visit my uncles farm, he recently got a great pyrenees, hes now 10 months old and SO MUCH BIGGER than my newfie, hes atleast 60lbs larger if not more than my newf, i dont know much about these amazing dogs but id like to share david with you guys

my uncle owns 87 acres of land and david watches over there sheep and goats, hes very calm for his age (10 months) my newf is 7 months and drags me every where and runs and jumps but david is jus so calm and so gentle i cant believe how mature he acts for his age

any way

here is is
