Wow it's great to "see" you guys! Somehow I still don't have any dog people as friends in my real life so there is no one to talk to who actually understands what these critters mean to me.

I found a pic of Turkey that I took with my cell phone camera. Grin

Where's Nigel?

 Cry Cry Cry
Nigel is no longer with me. He crossed the bridge a few weeks ago. It's very hard for me to talk about. I guess I knew it would come up, though. I made the very difficult decision to have Nigel euthanized. His aggression reached a very dangerous level and at the advice of professionals, I made that choice. I definitely haven't come to terms with it yet. I am just trying to focus on the dogs who are still with me and be thankful for them.

As for Miss Turkey, yep, she had to have that leg amputated finally! She is a CHAMPION on three legs. I am really glad for her, she is so much more free now. The leg that had broken just never healed quite right and was more of a hindrance than anything.
And Patrick is my newest pal! I really need to find a picture of him cause he is a real cutie pie!!!! You guys haven't seen hiom for sure. Lemme dig up some pics...

Hi, I have actually been a member for a really long time but I have been missing in action for a while! I know there are still a bunch of my old pals around here! Wink

But for anyone who never "knew" me, hehe, my name is Rebekah and I am a lover of big paws (and small ones too). A lot has happened at my house since I was on the board last, and my line-up has changed, but my current household consists of a bunch of rescues:

Zoot, a pointer mix
Mokey, a lab/Pyrenees mix
Turkey, a 3 legged husky mix
Connor, a blue Great Dane
Patrick, a Scottish Deerhound mix
and I think I have 9 or 10 cats.
 Grin

I'll work on getting some pics together. I haven't had a nice camera for a while but I'll see what I can muster. The drawing in my avatar is a portrait I did of my Great Dane.
I hope everyone is doing well and I can't wait to catch up with old friends! Looks like everyone has some new dogs and babies too!!!! YAY!!!

Thanks so much you guys!!! Thanks for thinking of me!! I had a really great full day yesterday, nonstop from 8:30 in the morning 'til ?? in the night... Wink It was a good day for me. Grin
I am afraid I have missed a lot around here lately! Sorry I have been out of the loop... I hope everyone and their puppers are doing great! I will try to play catchup here soon!
My crew and I are doing well, I have been drenched in cat rescue for the past solid year and now I have 6 dogs and 6 cats in my house, as well as 4 more outside/feral cats that I care for... so life is pretty busy!!! It's crazy. I'll have to get my butt on here and post some pics soon.

Thanks for the birthday wishes!!!! Grin Grin Grin

I'm gonna chime in here and say, if the Dogwood Festival is going on this weekend, Piedmont Park is going to be crazy and cars might be getting towed and stuff like that. Not good for out-of-towners.

Are there any times set for Saturday or any plans for Sunday? I might have a DATE on Saturday evening (my first one in years!!) so I am trying to figure out a schedule! Cheesy

As long as I know where to go, I'll be there! I need a place and time and all that!
I'll be hauling Nigel with me most likey, but then again he gets carsick, so, maybe Connor, um, I don't know! Cheesy

I will have one. When the planets align and send one to a GA shelter, I'll adopt my Wolfhound. This one is absolutely GORGEOUS though!!! Cheesy

How old is Dudley? How is his health?

My friend has a super-sized Dane like that, and her dog has some serious health problems and has to take quite a few daily medications. Cry I hope Dudley doesn't suffer the same issues. When I see people breeding Danes that big it makes me a little nervous. Undecided He is very handsome though.

Thanks you guys!!! I know it's about time I drew a portrait of one of my own dogs!! Cheesy

I have been doing a ton of miniature pen and ink portraits lately, they don't take as long as the colored pencil portraits. It's been really fun working in a new medium. Normally I don't color them but with Connor's I wanted him to look blue, so, voila!! Cheesy

The only breed that comes to my mind is Border Collie.
