My grandmother use to make her own Irish whisky brew. I don't have the recipe with me but I will be up at her house next week to pack up her stuff (and also to pick up Polar) when I get it I will post it.

Sorry to hear about that whole scene. What great advice! The only thing I have to say is watch your bite. Puncture wounds can look like they are no big deal but get infected really easily. When was your last tetnus shot?

I think you mount the sensor where you want it. So if you mounted it at the height of the collar when the dog is standing then it shouldn't open if the dog is lying on the ground.
I know I worry about the collar thing also. I just recently had Willow start wearing one all of the time. But it is loose enough that you can pull it over her head.
