Saint Bernard Pictures / Re: DIRTY Judge =(
« on: October 16, 2005, 11:43:30 pm »
He decided the best place to run was through the cow poo and mud.
is this a St. Bernie "thing"??? my first true memory of  a St. was seeing it run thru a semi-dried muddy ravine in Ithaca, NY.. so SO filthy...

Nikki kept on rolled on the wet ground after being humped by Cody this weekend. she's so FRIGGIN filthy that her leg fur is no longer white :(

Saint Bernard General Discussions / eating a teacup ... chihuahua
« on: October 16, 2005, 11:33:43 am »
yah. it looked like nikki almost ate her. she wanted to play and the teacup yelped like he was getting beheaded... i have nothing else to add except.. i don't like teacupped dogs... such humanly contrived / invented freaks of nature... at least the owner wasn't mad cuz i had her off-leashed between the playing lot and my front door...

W00T. another top down day here in Chicago... and i must gloat.. cuz Chitown has, to me, the worst weather in the country... too windy in winter, too hot in summer, too much rain in spring, and not enough sun during fall...

but so far this year... mother nature has been on 'my side' cuz i'm still loving my S2000 today... heck i might even wash my cars t'row...

not to mention.. your pup will p'bly poop less on canidae... so if she still potties in the kennel.. it'll be less to clean up...  :o

and uhm.. is Canidae a publicly traded company (no they're not)? cuz w/ all of our $ going to them, i'd like to make some back!!!

^ this reply.. in some ways.. is SO WRONG! stop being a vulture!!!  :D
go take Megan's dog. ;D .. and she's a CITY dog. C.I.T.Y.

(nikki also represents a monetary investment... she's seen the vet more in the last 2 months we've owned her than i have seen my MD all year... )

re 1) only 2nd and 3rd floors in the loft unit. the first floor is a gym. so it's either her or me.

re 2) we already bought some area rugs, but the place is ~1K sq ft, i can't buy enough area rugs, not to mention Nikki'll be 100 lbs+ sooner than later, no area rug (that we can afford) will isolate noise as well as long hair carpet w/ foam padding.

re 3) i've already talked to the neighbor. she's a BEEYOTCH. i told her (2x) i'm open minded and considerate, please let me know whenever things get excessive. she refuses and directly calls LL.

re 4) we let Nikki / Cody romp outside before feeding/sleepy but both of 'em likes to get up, move, thump onto to new spots every hr on the hr in the middle of the nite. i can't STOP 'em from doing that. they're DOGS! not to mention Nikky likes to play! and i like it when she plays w/ Cody. she's gonna be a puppy for another... YEAR?

the thing is.. per the LL's website,

best of all, every Bold Development apartment is PET FRIENDLY.

o the irony..  ::) >:(

Saint Bernard General Discussions / why i may hv to give up Nikki...
« on: October 13, 2005, 11:32:44 pm »
neighbors. specifically: the downstair neighbor.

got a second nasty call from da landlord in the month since i've moved in. 2 nites ago, while we're watching tv and the dogs were cuddling/playing, we heard what amounted to a broomstick pounding on the floor from beneath "Friends" style. the next morning, found a nasty vmail on my cell from the landlord (LL).

prepped gf for counter attack, she called LL, who, after extended circumlocution, finally had the gall to suggest we switch floors/units from 3rd to 2nd. per our prepared contingency, we agreed and told the LL to consult w/ downstairs WENCH and revert. a day later, no response. safe to assume 2nd FL evil person disagreed w/ floor swapping proposal... which leads to...

Nikki is a playful 8 month old. i've personally wanted a St. Bernie for almost 10 yrs. she's the stupidest, fluffiest thing i've ever had and i'm still reeling from her triumphant bout w/ severe hookworms... that said. she's a big Klutz. she constantly thomps on the floor and we're crating her almost 16 hrs/day now... i'm sick of doing this to her.

i assume LL will refuse my suggestion to carpet the entire wooden-floored apt. i assume LL will soon suggest ridding the puppy. i don't know what else to do at this moment besides moving out & we can not finally afford that option atm.. thoughts? advice? much appreciated...

...  I thought Walmart was part of Costco? ...
Carolyn
You just made Sam Walton spin in his grave!! ;D
and she just made EVERY Costco membership spin in their seats!!! :)

Newf Lover: whatever you said.. +1 here.
cept i've found a Costco here, that gives food samples during the WEEKDAYS. that's right BABEEE! when i was unemployed, i hit up costco everyday for lunch ;) i believe i've had a 'date' @ Costco as well. My costco membership card dates: 07/1991 becaues my parents been members since the place was called "Price Club". That said, Costco has spectacular meat prices, I'm using their auto insurance (AMEX) along with digital printing and you gotta love their 500 ct of generic vitamins. where else can you buy 2 bottles of Nutella for $7??? Paris maybe...

Medical Conditions & Diseases / Re: Hot Spots :(
« on: October 13, 2005, 02:29:44 am »
holy COW that hotspot on Judge is the size of a corn field... so maybe you can call it.. hot field. i wonder if an e-collar woulda helped? or socks on his paws? etc.?

re: Top Spot. after reading the literature, it seems Top Spot doesn't kill larvae/eggs? but it does kill fleas/ticks instantaneousl y? So to be comprehensive and thorough, do we need to apply Frontline Plus AND Frontline Top Spot simultaneously? We're only on Frontline Plus atm.

looks like Cody's last hotspot around his neck, cept a LOT tamer. caused by a flea bite indeed. tho he was frontlined monthly during summer. this is the hotspot that made the vet go: "EWWW WHAT IS THAT?" stupid vet...

LOST OUR BUSINESS.

why would u get another St. Bernie if she's not over 90 lbs? just curious?

Nikki is EXTREMELY skinny as well. almost 8 months and < 75 lbs. she's being fed premium food at 5 cups+ a day. tho she was sick for a coupla weeks.. and now is barely free feeding... whole nother story...
