Saint Bernard General Discussions / Saint Poem
« on: December 16, 2005, 12:19:09 am »
i read this in the Saint Fancier and thought yoall might enjoy it.

As far and wide as I can see,
There's just one kind of dog for me.

A dog so big and strong and sweet,
I'm forced to hug him when we meet

This dog;s been known in times of old,
To save poor souls lost in the cold.

He'd cuddle up and keep them warm,
When they'd been stranded in a storm.

"His face looks sad," most foclks would say,
But he does love to romp and play.

This dog will drool and slime your clothes,
It's no big deal, his owner knows.

The clother will wash all nice and clean,
No need to fuss or make a scene.

His fur will shed all o'er the floor,
Just sweep it up--therewill be more.

The food he eats could feed a horse,
He'll eat and want another course.

With all the work and time you take,
There's just one thing, make no mistake.

This dog will be your friend for life,
In times of good and times of strife.

This dog I keep with fond regard,
This dog I love - my St. Bernard.

Anything Non-Dog Related / I have a question for homeschoolers
« on: November 29, 2005, 06:33:11 pm »
. I am writing a paper for my Philosophy of Christain Education class about homeschooling. I just hope you can answer a few questions for me if you don't mind. Can pm the answers if you don't feel comfortable posting.

1. Why do you home school your children?

2. What kind of curriculum do you use?

3. What was the child's age when you started  homeschooling you children?

This is for those who eithre are homeschooled or use to be homeschooled
1. Do or did you enjoy being homeschooled?

2. Did or do you ever want to go to a school?

Thank you so much. It will really help with my paper.

We are looking to buy a new bed for Molly and was wondering what size beds do the rest of you use for your saints. I don't want to buy one that is going to be to small later on.

Saint Bernard General Discussions / Molly needs your prayer
« on: November 23, 2005, 05:16:24 am »
Molly is in the hospital right now. Earlier today she ate a flea color and poisoned herself. I let her in from the back yard and noticed something was wrong and called Mother-in-law, who came right over (1 1/2 miles) and rushed her to my vet who is a mile down the street. I was so scared I was going to lose her. My hbby (Jerry) rushed home from work and checked the yard to find out what she had gotten into. That is when her found the flea collar chewed up. She is now doing better. They induced vomiting but not all of it came up. She is resting now but I'm up in the middle of the night worrying about her. My vet had her transfered (by us) to an emergency vet, who keeps getting called every 2 hours. My vet said I was lucky to catch it early or she would have died. Now she has a chance to make it. She still need all the prayers she can get. Thanks.

The producers at discovery changed their minds and my foster cats will not be on animal planet. They decided that they were to big so they are out. I judt found out last night. I'm a little diappointed but it's alright, God must have a reason. I just want to let everyone know.
