Bummer! I do remember you saying you used to live here...I'm beginning to suspect I'm the only one.

I could post a personal ad for Craig on Craigslist! Hahahaha!

Meet & Greet BPOers / Any BPOers in Oceanside? Craig needs a playmate!
« on: January 16, 2009, 11:36:12 am »
We're looking for a large/giant breed friend for Craig that doesn't mind letting it all out when he/she plays.
He's not a giant...26" and 90-95lbs, but he likes to run, chase and wrestle without holding back. We usually have to leave the dogpark because he tends to offend and scare dogs that are smaller(so far mostly pit bulls). I feel badly for Craig because he can't take a hint and ends up being "annoying". He tends to gravitate toward boxers, rottweilers, rhodesians...t ougher breeds that can wrestle.
Today he almost got into a fight with a pit who was guarding his owner and I'm afraid we won't be able to go to our park anymore. :-\
Not sure what I can do for him.
So anyway...North County? Anyone?

Mixed Breed Discussion / Has anyone tried DNA testing their dog?

Just curious.
If you have were you surprised or were the breeds in line with your opinion?

Omg I was looking right at the "browse" button and nothing registered. lol

Here is Mr.SquishFace. The pics are the first day or two with Craig and he looks a little groggy from painkillers.
Oh, and my room isn't always this trashed...we were about to move and everything was in disarray.  :)

Thank you!
Haha! The shelter told me he's a lab/shepherd. I believe the lab part, but he's very tall. He has the body type and personality traits of a Rhodesian but no ridge. He's 85 lbs and is 26" at the shoulders.
We call him Mr. Squish Face because he has so much extra skin! All over his body...it's crazy.

As soon as I figure out how to post more pics I will.

Hello! Yay I'm remembered!  ;D
Too bad about the paw prints...that was a cute feature. Thank you for that info btw.

Yes, it's been tough without teamshredit..t hey actually live across the street from my complex(weird huh?) I won't visit them anymore though...it's too confusing for Lucas(and breaks my heart).

Craig's been very good to me. I'm sure one day he can go play with them.  :)

Newfoundland Discussions / Re: Bear could care less

Awwww, Bear's got better things to do! (Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz)
Love to see a pic of those two.
My sister once had a cat that would jump from her attic window to the neighbor's everyday while she was at work. Like clockwork, Tuesday(the cat) would run down the stairs to greet her when she came home.
She finally found out when the neighbors told her that her kitty was a part of their family as well.
It's okay to share the love!  :D

Oh, and I'm Meredith.  ;D  My old avatar name was Teamshredit, but unfortunately Lucas and Daisy are no longer in my life  :'((they are doing very well at my ex's house!)

Can anyone tell me how to make a page for Craig? I don't see anything on the UserTools list.

Hey all! I haven't been on BPO in a couple years, and I have a new friend I'd like everyone to meet. This is Craig! Mr. Craig was sprung from the Humane Society 3 weeks ago today. Poor guy had been locked up for over 3 months because he was deemed "too old, and too big"(I live in chihuahua-land).
I do believe I got the best doggie in the whole shelter! Craig is loveable, very gentle and kind-hearted.
He comes to work with me at the gallery and has become a tour guide for all the visitors.
And for some reason I can't post pics so all I have for now is the avatar photo.
Also, I cannot figure out how to make a profile for Craig...and registration isn't working. Help!

It's been awhile sorry, but I wanted to thank everyone for the great advice. Daisy is better, although I'm not 100%positive why. One of two reasons: a. we switched her from canidae to a different food...I was suspicious of the papaya, but can't be certain. and b. the dogs had been drinking from plastic bowls, which my boss(I work at an animal supply store) had informed me is a haven for bacteria. Since we switched to glass bowls and started changing her food over at the same time I have no idea what worked. But her swelling is down and she's back to normal again(yay!)

Yes it's only around her mouth on one side. We just switched their food to Canidae and it's been great for them, although I never thought about food allergies. How much benadryl is good for a dog(per dose)? She is 60 lbs.
And the hydrocortizone is a great idea, I want that swelling to go down.
Thanks for the advice  :)

Started about two weeks ago. She is scratching the right side of her face to the point where her lips are swollen and scabbing  :(
After ruling out fleas I suspect it might just be her dirty nails that are irritating and causing her to scratch more.
Is there anything I can put on her face and lip area to disinfect and soothe? Is peroxide ok?
I feel so badly for her.
Thanks
Meredith

Food Discussion & Information / Re: Rawhide Chews
« on: June 24, 2006, 02:11:59 pm »
We let ours chew on them occasionally as a treat, but not the flat square kind. Like Zanie mentioned, Lucas softened his once and I had to fish it out of his throat! Never again. We get the long rolled up kind and they gnaw on the ends and chew in smaller bites. When I see them getting toward the end I throw it away just incase.

I'm at work and trying to be quiet but tears are coming out!!!  :D
