I would say just keep calling around and checking places like craigslist. I know it can be frustrating. I have to honestly say that your best bet is to find a homeowner who is renting out their house/apartment themselves, because chances are slim that a large apartment complex will rent to a rottie. Even an individual landlord will probably be hesitant to rent to a rottie. The problem is that rotties are on the banned breed list by some home owner's insurance, so no matter how much a person might like big dogs, they could loose their insurance by allowing one. I know it sucksĀ  >:(

we have a lead! this guy is looking for a roommate and has a 6 year old akita....he likes rotties and she won't have to go through a property mgmt. place. I'm crossing my fingers for her  ;)

Pookie!!!  ;D
I just got off the phone with her and she is freaking. We are going to pueblo on sunday to pick up her dogs(the other is an aussie shepherd). Someone in the county has got to love rotties.

I am writing on behalf of a friend who is trying desperately to find housing in san diego. She has a well behaved, 6 year old rottweiler and has been repeatedly turned down by landlords because of Nikka's size and breed. I understand there are incidents with rottweiers(like any breed) but if she doesn't find housing soon she will have to go back to Colorado. Anyone have any suggestions of places to live or ways around people's stereotyping?

Yikes! Glad everythings okay. When the pups were 4-5 months old we temporarily moved into a friends house/junkyard. We caught Daisy lapping up radiator fluid...luckil y it was watered down and she didn't get much in her system. We were horrified! That crazy girl has a strong stomach. I wonder how many things they have ingested that I don't know about.

okay...he's outside under a bush but he's upside down...he'll flip over and fly away right? He's breathing and very alert. Is it okay for him to be on his back like that? Sorry I know cats and dogs pretty well but not birds.

I feel dumb right now for asking this but a bird walked in my store and freaked out and I don't know how to help it leave. It's flown into four windows and is now perched on one of the gallery pieces near the ceiling. I feel so bad for it....it's terrified. Anyone deal with this before? If he/she is within reach is it okay to pick it up and put it outside or should I let it find its own way. I don't want to make things worse. Oh great it just pooped on my floor  :P

So..if these "designer" dogs are created from high quality purebreds, where do they get the purebreds? What responsible breeder would allow their puppies to be used for this purpose?  ???

Secondly,(and this is an opinion of course) if some attention starved person wants to buy a dog for those reasons stated....get a St.Bernard!

Is that what that means? Chip called me from the dog park to tell me a dog peed on his bare leg while he was giving Lucas some water. EW!  :P

I love this thread. Instead of a foot fetish, Luke has a pillow fetish. He loves to jump on our couch or the spare room bed and wiggle and squirm, getting his head under the pillows and flipping them up and eventually off. He snorts and makes all these goofy noises! Every day he does this, usually in the morning. Anyone else have a wiggle worm?
