If it gets loud you can go to the bathroom and wait it out.

Sorry I can not give advice but did get a giggle out of it. I was imagining being the recipient of the saving, I would kind of freak out if I was in water over my head and some dog came scratching. I just thought it was cute. Grin

I personally will never go around a pit or rotty. I use to own four pits and raised them by bottle their mother passed and that is how we got them. My first dh and I seperated(he changed the locks while I was at work) . He did not take into consideration that our lovely two year old pits were upstairs , when he tried to open the door to get into his office and bedroom they tore him up something aweful.
I will never own another one. I also know that prys are bone crunchers, this was told to me by a vet that grabbed my now since gone Sampsons broken leg . Sampson turned his head and almost broke the vets arm. He was not vicious nor did he ever turn on us. A matter of fact when my one year old fell on his casted leg he just looked at me like come on get you kid. But he did have the ability to be a danger.
But pits and rotty's do turn alot.

Thank you both, I still have a weird feeling that the woman we bought this dog from was pulling some scam so I am a little paranoid. He has papers but I think that she was doing something sneaky hubby says I am delusional lol.

Beautiful cats. Shamus still can't understand why the cats run when he charges them or if they stay why they run after he holds them down with his paw.

12  Setters / Setter Discussions & Pictures / Question about Shamus's tail
« on: June 01, 2006, 11:25:48 AM »

Being he is my first setter , I am not sure if his tail is suppose to be like this.
It feels like it is ribbed. kind of like those wooden snakes that wou wiggle and his hair on it is filling in like it is twirled around it. If the kids hadn't taken the batteries  out of my camera I would show you. I have searched every picture I could find of setters to see if I could get a close up of the tail but aside from the older ones that already had the feathered tail I couldn't find any.

« on: May 25, 2006, 08:26:55 AM »

Shamus did at first but now he feels safer so he is fine. Cujo litterally kicks the back of his dog house out so he can see the lightening. He has two dog houses  one of those igloo types and a wood dog house, when it storms he goes in the wooden one and pushes and kicks until he gets the back boards off and sticks his head out that side, Huh

« on: May 25, 2006, 08:20:58 AM »

Mine is a male working pyrenees and he is good with our Irish setter puppy . Our last pyr was good with a female lab and very protective of her but he would get really aggressive towards any other male. Our pyr will not let any other animal in our yard. He realizes the cats belong here but even if we get a ground hog or squirrel hit the ground he will attack, but like I said he is working. I do not have any experience with house pyrs. I think the males are less aggressive than the females though.
