I have seen it in stores before, and in fact had people return them due to their smell, but the Tire Biter is the best toy in the world. For some reason Jaz loves the taste of rubber (although she always spits it out), this toy is ment to be destroyed so do be forwarned it is messy toy, but keeps them busy for hours! I would not recommend this toy for dogs that will eat anything, although it is non-toxic, and 100% safe (so it says). It actually does floss there teeth, although i have not met many dogs who like it, but Jaz loves it so i thought i would throw it out there.

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / any one heard of dog island?
« on: September 05, 2006, 09:34:57 am »
www.dogisland. com    this is a weird site... if i am correct, it is instead of putting your dog in a shelter, it is free for the dog to stay there, there are humdreds of dogs running wild on the islands... look at it... at first i thought it was great, although they have no human contact at all, so they are running free and becoming undomesticated .

Treatment & Preventative Meds / Flea carpet powders... help please!!!!
« on: September 05, 2006, 08:23:17 am »
I have fish, ferrets, geckos, and a puppy, the puppy got fleas this weekend which she has k-9 advantix on...although now i must use a carpet  powder to clean the rugs. Does anyone have any suggestions/websites where i can find information on what flea powder is non-toxic to all animals??? The ferrets must come out of cage for 1 hour a day...which can be put on hold until this is taken care of, but i don't want the powder to be toxic to them... any suggestions?

I went to a petstore yesterday...wh ere they sell puppies. just looking...not planning on getting one...esp.. from there. Well anyway..i was talking to the owner and they can not sell big paws there because of the lack of space. But the problem was one of the puppies looked like it was bloating and extremely sick. I am glad no big paws allowed due to the fast growing rate. But this little black pug was cute..and EXTREMEly fat...like he was bloating if that is possible. I know that this particular store has sold sick dogs and known about it..but this little guy is extremely sick what can i do?

Food Discussion & Information / Green Tripe
« on: August 31, 2006, 09:15:37 am »
I have heard that green tripe does wonders for dogs who are prone to bloat, sick animals, and more. Although it smells so gross...not even Jazmine will eat it.. i tried Green Tripe from Solid Gold..and she would not eat it at all... is there any tripe that the dogs do like? I like to explore options with my little skinny minny... any suggestions on how to "dress up" green tripe? I have 2 cans of it left at $2.99 a can... how can i get her to eat it ?

Behavior, Housebreaking, Obedience / Teenager times?

Jaz is offically 10 months old..112lbs, 32 inches. She is testing my every nerve i have in my body. To the point of keeping me away from 10 pm-4 am, whining, "singing", now she is grabbing everything she shouldn't grab, even if it is out of her way, she still can get it.  She refuses to eat 2 x a day, although i know that 4 cups of food is not enought to sustain her. She is skin and bones, with some muscle mixed in. She will only eat right before we have to go somewhere. I tried leaving the food for 15 and taking it away, and it doesn't matter to her. There have been no changes in our life, except the fact she is driving me insane. I will never put her in a shelter, nor give her up. I know this is just the age.... or is it?  I am willing to work what ever i have to do to work with her and make her a well behaved companion. I don't know what got her into this. Also, for 3 months now we play ball with her and a 100 ft. leash, she always comes back to me,although the other day she ran and ran and ran as far as she could from me. I don't get it . Is 10 months a teenager? Right in front of my before i could say anything she grabbed another remote and bite through it.....TESTING>>>TESTING....TES TING..... When will it end? SOoN?

Food Discussion & Information / Lamb/ rice = cancer free?
« on: August 29, 2006, 03:58:07 am »
has anyone heard that lamb and rice prevents cancer? I have heard that on a podcast i am listening to. But i was also told that lamb and rice does not support the heart. Jaz is now on solid gold bison and merrick Cowboy dry food, with canned. I alternate, so i am not worried about lack of nutrients, but does anyone know if this is true? I do know that solid gold Hunden flocken is lamb and rice and was made for danes, although i don't want just that type since i know it can cause other issues. But does anyone know?

General Board for Big Dogs with Big Paws / Time
« on: August 17, 2006, 06:45:53 am »
it is funny how time flys by so fast... it has been three months since i picked up Jazmine and it feels like i got her last week. Sometimes it is hard to fine all the time to myself, i am not looking for sympathy or anything like that, i guess i am jsut getting this off my chest.  Working 8-530...getting home at 6-630, our schedual is as follows.... wake up...me potty, jaz potty, walk jaz, feed jaz, get dressed leave for work.... work..... come home walk jaz, feed me and hubby, feed jaz, go to bed...there never seems like there is any time for me...I mean just the little things, by the time night falls it is like i just blinked my eyes, sometimes i wish it was daylight forever.  I feel that i have so much to do and no time at all. But 3 years ago when in school, the time just could not go fast enough...sitti ng here at work time is as slow as slow could be...but as soon as i leave here it is insane... no time for me. No time to jsut go out and play with Jaz, no time to go on a "date" with the hubby, barely enough time to shower. Either i am unorganized or my life just seems insane right now... IT IS AUGUST!!!!!! My b-day is almost here... i think last i looked at the calandar was when i was looking to pick up jaz from maine.... a 6 hour ride to get her. Before i know it she is going to be 6 years old the next time i blink. I seem to be missing so much, i wish i got out of work earlier than i do, after lunch the time is so slow that i wish i could just leave. Ok sorry for boring you... just had to get that off of me... thanks
lauren
