Oh, I knew even when it was happening that it was funny. That's why I'm such a horrible trainer, I tend to laugh at times when I should be stern, just like tonight. If I had said "Drop it!" sternly, Kingsley would've just dropped it. But when I'm laughing my buttocks off while saying "drop it," he doesn't tend to listen.  :P

I'm guessing she's an owner surrender or something, because at seven months, even if it had all its hair, it wouldn't look like a Komondor yet. Their hair doesn't cord until they're like a year or two.

Oh, my beautiful puppies. Earlier tonight I decided to water a couple plants I had out back, so I turned the hose on. It has a spray nozzle connected to it. I picked it up by the nozzle, and the hose fell off! It started shooting water in all directions and whizzed off into the yard before I could grab it. Don't worry though, because Kingsley heard my yell of surprise. And as soon as he saw what I was running toward, he grabbed the hose and took off, while it was still shooting water. He thought it was great fun, and I swear he was intentionally turning just right to spray me everytime I got close. I finally gave up chasing him and just went and turned the water off. As soon as the water shut off, he dropped the hose and walked away like nothing had every happened. Thankfully, the neighbors behind us (whom I've never met) witnessed the whole ordeal and got a great big chuckle out of it.

Why do pitties get a bad rep from the media? It's simple, because they are the dog of choice right now for all of the thugs and losers out there who want to get a dog for a status symbol. Unfortunatley these people who are getting the dogs are irresponsible pet owners and they want their dogs to be mean and deadly. Of course this causes problems, and we all know how the media loves hysteria. All of the points I wanted to say have already been said, I think pitties are fantastic dogs and maybe one day I might invite one into our home again. BSL makes me so angry, and I think that anyone who has a fear of these dogs should find a responsible breeder and communicate with them and visit their dogs!! I think many minds would be changed. In given time the pits will be out of the spot light and their will be a new devil dog to replace them. I hope to God that new laws will be implemented against PEOPLE who want to be pet owners, only this way can we prevent the attacks! And it doesn't matter that I'm not a pit owner, because maybe when the thugs and losers decide that they want to demonize newfs (don't laugh, it could happen, they did it to Saints back in the 80's), I want as many people as possible against BSL.

Pitts are a powerful breed, and they have a heart that can love their family just as powerfully.

Well said!

I remember when my mom wanted to get a Saint Bernard in the early 90s everyone was appalled and couldn't believe she would want to put her children in danger like that.

Dozer makes stringers which we call slimers. No bubbles though. Your dogs have talent :D
Tealk thinks Dozers slimers are something to clean up, he is always licking Dozers face and checking to see if dozer has anything left in his hound dog floppy lips ::)

HAHAHA Kingsley is always cleaning Laika's jowls too!

Me too! I've always wanted either a Komondor or a Puli named [Bob] Marley :)

I don't know how in the world a Komondor pup ended up in Texas, but the humane society down here has a seven-month old female. She's absolutely beautiful! It looks like they shaved her, but when her coat grows in she'll be a beautiful dog.

« on: August 16, 2006, 08:39:48 am »
We don't take her on long walks, she makes even short walks around the block almost impossible! After like a block she starts slowing down...slower. ..and slower...and slower...until finally I'm practically dragging her along!

I was always told that giant breed puppies will try to burn off all their energy, but they actually need that energy for their growing bones, so they shouldn't be allowed to run and jump and stuff hardly at all. I'm really scared about her hips because we've already had quite a few scares with them (EXTREME growing pains), so I really try to make her not jump, but unfortunately, she LOVES bouncing around, ever since she saw my mom's mini schnauzer bouncing.

I know that Neos aren't supposed to get much exercise when they're puppies, and so far I think we've done really well keeping Laika from getting too much exercise, but she's almost 8 months and has hit an energy streak. I don't know what to do! She never stops running and playing and basically going crazy! She has waaaaaaay more energy than Kingsley, and he's an Aussie/Husky mix! When is it okay to start letting her get more exercise, because I just don't think I can keep her settled down.

Yeah, we have a huge problem with Laika clinging to Kingsley at the park. Kingsley will be playing with another dog, and if Laika thinks it's getting out of hand, she steps in between and barks and tries to chase the other dog away.

Yeah, a couple weeks ago a lady brought a Boston terrier puppy into our area, and the thing kept attacking Laika, and she has a very short temper. She barked at it a few times, but the owner just laughed. Then the puppy started running and a whole group of dogs chased it. I managed to grab Kingsley and Laika but the woman was obviously freaked out. So does she leave? No. She comes over to the area where I have ahold of Kingsley and Laika and puts the puppy back down on the ground, where it starts jumping up and biting Kingsley and Laika's face. The whole time it was doing that the lady was glaring at ME. I finally said to h*ll with it and went home. I didn't want to to see my dogs lose their temper on this little thing and kill it because its owner is too stupid to obey rules.
