We hold a Bingo game twice a week. It generates considerable cash but does take a volunteer staff and someone who knows bingo.
PM me for specific questions.

What about an Invisable Fence?? I have used it for a lab, a GSD, Corgie and two Pointer mixes. It takes a 2 inch trench for the wire and a collar for each dog.
The one thing I did do was to hire the installation and training (including the programing of the collars). I chose the company by the trainer not the salesman.

My DW said English Pointer and we found 3 breeders to compare them with. They now look purebred but that could change. They were found running loose in a rural county here in Ohio. We contacted the County Animal Control Offices in 3 counties and the Humane Societies. No responses in a month. Soooo, they are home now.

Moni,
My heart goes out to you.
I have always thought of Tenchi (and his antics) as one of the founding dogs of BPO.
You and Tenchi will be in my thoughts and prayers.

We have had cattle, named everyone of them, but when push came to shove (3 in college) they went. The loss is in the line you have developed not the individuals.
Good Luck on the home repairs.

Attached is my "little one", she runs like a bunny>

Me thinks you spent too much time on your rant and not enough keeping up with the posts.
You made good points about breeding in general. Please don't aim at one individual.

Great Dane Discussions / Re: need help... children and big dogs???
« on: June 21, 2006, 09:24:27 pm »
If the parents are "dog savy" and control both the dog and the kid or kids the addition of a big paw can be a joy. If the adults want a "decoration" then all bets are off. It boils down to respect, the dog's needs for a place to get away if needed and the child's understanding that it is not a stuffed toy.
We raised two kids after we got 3 dogs (all adults). My daughter's first ten words included a low growl when she didn't want to do something.
Good Luck
