Pyrlove,
You remind me of a female dog who doesn't want to breed !!
Co-mingling two treads and going off half cocked is NOT what this board is about. I would suggest you find another place to jump to conclusions.

Amanda,
We could use some more info.
What was his weight and age when you got him and the same now?
What are him basic personality traits?
Have you seen the parents?
Do you have any pictures of him standing and/or running.

I am flying into Boulder for a PetSmart Rescue Wagon Canine Assessment course. Do you have any must see attractions in the Mile High area??

« on: July 11, 2008, 12:10:00 AM »

Katherine,
He, I believe he is a full blooded Mali. He has the short hair around the head, higher ear set, a mouth that reminds you of a croc. and a "different" temperment. If I had seen the mouth opened wide I would have named him Gator. He came to us missing his right leg so he has had some severe trauma in his life. He seems to be about a year old (no vet has gotten close ehough to evaluate his teeth as to his age).

8  Belgian Dogs / Belgian Malinois Discussions & Pictures / Kaila, do you have a long lost relative in Ohio??
« on: July 10, 2008, 12:04:43 PM »

Katherine,
This boy was in the local Animal control Center marked agressive and due to be put down. He is part of our pack now.
He is mouthy, barky, curious, and allround lovable PITA.
He was marked a GSD but one look at him with his mouth wide open and you can't deny his Malinois'ness.

Welcome, fellow Ohioan.
I am the orginal Lurker - I don't want to disturb the estrogen level  Grin. Not really - I'm on dialup and by the time I get an answer entered and posted the comments are duplicated or more.
We are active in the Humaine Society in the county and have added a tripod Belgian Malinois to the household.

Shiloh has been retreived thanks to a live trap, some dirty laundry, a gruel of all things tastey to dogs, and a foxy team of dog people. She was returned to Christi's mom and was scheduled for a complete check up at the vets today.

Try soaking Durby's collar (or a new collar) with bitter apple. Wet it down, let it dry and soak it again then put it on him. This worked to stop collar chewing of our two pups.

I have used a PETSTOP fence for 3 years with a GSD, Lab, Corgi, and 2 English Pointer/Beagle mixes.
Yes TRAINING is the key. Choose your installer for their training knowledge not the kind of fence.

Hey, Rachael,
Would you share your Sophie's adoption story with the newer members. I consider it one of the best stories posted to BPO.
