Funny about the beet pulp in Nutro.
I talked to a Nutro representative in my pet store and she told me that dogs poop less on Nutro because they only use the inside of the corn kernel so the dog can completely digest it. Normally corn would just be excreted- causing more poop and less nutrition. Made sense to me but I didn't think about the beet pulp adding to the less poop.
My pup defiantly poops a lot less on Nutro and I love it. Now I just have to go clean the backyard now that all the piles aren't buried under snow.

I was under the impression Nutro was really good food. Why do you say it isn't?

I've tried it with my dog but he looks at me like if he knows what I am doing. But my ferrets however love it, especially when they are the ones under the covers.

I like the design but you should definitely try to incorporate the dogs name/names or at least their initials.

6  Dobermans / Doberman Discussions / Re: Snoods: Does anyone use them on their Dobermans in cold weather?
« on: November 14, 2006, 03:15:15 AM »

I had no idea what a Snood was until you mentioned them and then of course I had to look it up. From what I saw on the site, I don't see why they won't keep a doberman's ears warm. But I'm not sure if that was a factor in the design or not. It seems to be geared towards show dogs especially those with large ears or with long hair. he Dog Snood keeps the dog's ears from falling into the water bowl, or from getting matted when the dog eats. "The Dog Snood keeps the dog's ears from falling into the water bowl, or from getting matted when the dog eats." Btw, good job finding a new use for an interesting product.

That sounds like a good idea. I don't have any videos really of my dog and I know he loves the snow, too. But he doesn't appreciate the rain much.

8  BPO Training Forum / Behavior, Housebreaking, Obedience / Re: Counter surfing -- any tips?
« on: November 07, 2006, 12:45:09 PM »

My dog on occasion will couter surf, but usually only shelves that are his height. So I've resorted to putting items of values a little higher up. I've never thought of putting something spicy or hot to trap him. But I think that the cookie sheet idea is awesome, I'm going to try that. He scares pretty easliy with surprise noises.

The Wubbas look very unique as far as dog toys go. I'll definitely consider getting one. But as far as the Tugga Wubbas go, they say that they are for play on their own but my dog would destroy it. Every Tug rope I've got him he has biten in half, so I use the knots as a ball and play catch with him.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried the 2L bottles when Bagheera was younger. I've since had to move on to the 3L bottles and now I like Juice Bottles(like the oceanspray ones)...they tend to be really tough plastic.

« on: November 06, 2006, 02:34:10 PM »

Does anyone know of a good strong chew toy, besides a kong?
My dog plays with his kong but doesn't usually chew on it unless I'm playing with him. He likes things that are really hard to chew on but something he can actually chew, ie. bones. I just feel bad that there aren't that many toys I've found that he can actually play with that he won't be able to break easily.
