Food Discussion & Information / the treat stik..

while not my personal saviour like the buster cube, is still worth over an hour of peace and relative quiet.  Heidi does managed to get it unscrewed after a while and has already ruined one, but i highly recommend it for anyone else fighting the neverending war against doggie boredom.

oh my goodness, diarrhea AND ointment in both eyes?  you are having a super week!  my sympathies and good luck. at least it's "easily" fixable (provided you can get the drops in his eyes and the pills down his throat) i wish i had thought to get the camera out for this stuff with heidi, SOMEONE might have gotten some fun out of it that way!

oh, good for Chloe getting home and getting spoiled, lord knows the poor pupper deserves it.  i will keep my fingers crossed that she continues improving.

Heidi had a little discharge and redness in her right eye a few months back, i did take her to the vet and they decided in that case it was probably a little infection, they gave me some ointment to put in her eye (picture how fun that is), so that was fine, BUT they did say it could have been other things like a scratch on her cornea (ouch)  so i would probably get him in sooner rather than later if it doesn't clear up.

i just have to share my joy that it has now been at least a full week without Heidi chewing up anything other than the smorgasbord of chew toys she is supposed to.  so nice to come home and not have the house ransacked.  now mind you, she still doesn't have full run of the house, but at least she's no longer putting all her time and energy into defeating my containment methods.  hooray!thank you for allowing me to share my happy vent=)

hehe, i know how you feel.  i'm sure he will miss you but he will have a good time.  when i went to wyoming in may my landlords dogsat heidi for me, and when i got back i think she was a little disappointed that she wasn't having as many playdates with her doggy friends=)  "mom, you're so booring! why do i have to BEHAVE myself again?"

well, this week went a lot better.  she didn't bark nearly as much and she did a very good job of paying attention to me and not so much to the other dogs, i'm so proud!  next week they are having us come early so i can work with her awhile before all the other pooches show up, i am looking forward to her having the opportunity to show off what a smart girl she is (when she's not being psycho)=)

Sorry, no idea if she will grow out of it but she is gorgeous the way she is now!

I feel so bad for you that you had to give Lennox up.  Why won't this lady let you see him?  Surely there' some kind of middle ground here, unless she's completely heartless.  Maybe she is afraid that seeing you again would upset him?  I have a friend who is divorced, his wife took their dog since she kept the house, and after a while he had to stop visiting the poor pooch because after he left again she would be upset for weeks.  If she's unwilling to let you see him, surely she could at least send you some pictures and updates on how he is doing.  I hope this gets better for you, it sounds like you've had a lot of stress all around lately.  at some point, if you have the time, you might want to try volunteering at your local animal shelter, at least that way you would be able to interact with dogs even if you can't have one anymore, and sadly there are a lot of pooches who weren't as lucky as Lennox to have owners that would find them a good home when they had to, who would appreciate it.  Good luck
