Top dog in my house...who's yours?
« on: June 03, 2006, 10:09:48 pm »
Well, these pictures pretty much show that Zoey is literally top dog in our house! So that made me wonder... for you who have multiple dogs, who rules the roost? Hope you like the pictures too!
Marissa

Zoey- Alaskan Malamute, 4 years
Dolly, CGC- Saint Bernard, 4 years
Foster mom to Clarence- Basset Hound, 5 years

My oldest Female Vizsla Lucci runs the show here. Has since the day she walked in the door at 6 months old...her brothers didn't know what hit them:)
However once in awhile I do see May trying to take over the position but as of now Lucci isn't stepping aside.

Just as in most households the female rules here and the boys are perfectly happy with the arrangement; however, I should add that true alpha after Mack and I is our 18-year-old cat Bobo.

Two of my cats run the show, with the lazy, fluffy one-Thomas-claiming top rung (he likes to sit like a man, on his butt, legs out with one paw over his crotch-I kid you not-and he will sit against doors and not even move when I open them... he just lets them scoot his body across the floor... this cat is the epitome of laziness). Turbo, his brother, claims spot 2.

After that, there's Riley, then Sadie, much to Sadie's annoyance. Riley doesn't act much like an alpha unless he decides that he wants to eat from the bowl Sadie's eating from.

Then comes my other cat-Bevo-Turbo and Thomas' brother. He has no inclination to even enter the pecking order and is content to walk around meowing to himself, cleaning people, and getting love.  :D

Our 3.5 lb Papillon, Chicklet is the definite boss in our house!  She is ruthless-she pounces on the cats, steals Binky's toys and takes food right from McDougal's mouth!

I would have said that Kaila was the top dog and normally she is but there are times when the power seems to shift and Cinder is the alpha.  Not sure what they are doing but I think it really is that Kaila hasn't the confidence to completely take over and hold the position.

Kaila - Belgian Malinois
Shiner - Malinois x Ridgeback
Toulouse, Cayenne, Raven - DSH

Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas and oil, as well as current market conditions, the Light at the End of the Tunnel has been turned off. We apologize for the inconvenience

Cute pictures! They're both beautiful girls.
Up until recently there really wasn't a "top dog" here. Sam and Max are really laid back and little Duncan was just kind of a pest to them. But lately Duncan had been throwing his not so little weight around and I have a feeling that it won't be long before he's ruling the house.

I would usually say it's Apollo, but in the last month, he and Onyx have been *discussing* the situation,  ::) ::) so for right now, it's in the air.

Zeus could care less...as long as his food bowl is filled, he can get on the bed to warm Mom's feet, and that there is *always* a ball in the house for him to obsess over, the rest of the world could go you-know-where. :D :D

Freya is top dog the only female then there is milo and bryce she runs the show 24 seven and they are quite happy with that deal. She is the boss of the boy's and they know it!If one of them takes to long coming in the house when i call them she is all over them when they get in the house when the boys play rough and i ask them to clam down she gets right in the middle of them and breaks it up.She's a herder so she really keeps them in line fun to watch!
