As some of you guys know, Willow has cherry eye in both eyes. So, I made an appt. for Willow's 2nd cherry eye surgery this weekend. She'll be going in on Oct. 3rd. Hopefully this surgery will work. Cross your fingers everyone.

*crossing my fingers*

I don't know if it's true or not, but Laika's breeder told me if she ever gets cherry eye just have it removed because if you tack it, you'll just have to do it again within a year. But that's coming from the breeder whom I've slowly begun to realize isn't that reputable. *shakes fist*

Fingers crossed here. And Connor hopes that it all goes well too, he's been through it and came out in the end with a beautiful new look. Wink

Thanks everyone. I definitely want to avoid removing the glands. If this surgery doesn't work I'm going to take Willow to a vet opthomaligist (sp) and see what they can do. Currently, Willow's vet specializes in large breeds and has done numerous cherry eye surgeries, but she's not a specialist on eyes.

She's in our thoughts.  Hope the surgery goes quick and painless.  I hear cherry eye is common in Mastiffs - is there anything that can be done to prevent it?

There are 7 bigs here, they each have 4 toes on each foot and they are all going to cross them for good luck and good wishes. Oops, wait we have even more toes than that, Pyrenees have the double dew claws... So we are sending all the good luck wishes we can conjure up here for you and hope that you keep us posted. There is a really good dog optimologist in the Dallas area so if you need a name let me know and I will get it for you.
